We are getting married June 14, 2016. I am needing ideas on what people do for their guest activities.

Is everyone planning a welcome party? If so are you paying for private cocktail hour, or having everyone just meet at bar? We are wanting to do group excursion one day. Our group will range from 1-75 years old so not sure what will work for that range.

Are you offering guests one paid activity and list of optional ones for other days that are non paid? I thought about putting list of local ideas from golf tee costs to snorkel in the oot packet so guests can pick their own.

We are hosting a private catamaran cruise (3 hours, open bar and snacks) on Friday.  Outside of that and the typical wedding stuff (ceremony, photos, reception), everyone is on their own.

We made a list of potential excursions and put them on our website, but we are not offering to make arrangements for anything else.  It's too much to manage and we figured people wanted some time to do their own thing.

Hi brides! Congrats to everyone on their upcoming weddings! We have booked for October 2016, and we are still waiting to receive confirmation on date, time and locations. We still haven't received any cost details about services offered.

Does anyone know how much the bridal suite is and how to reserve it?

Can you extend your private reception?

Is there a cost to set up decorations you are bringing?

Thanks :)

The contract is 150 for suite. I just sent it in. I emailed the spa directly to ask and they sent me paperwork. We are extending our reception by a hour- you just pay the 12/18pp for alcohol. You pay based on initial number of people, not on how many stay during the extended time. I asked, just in case people want to leave early.

I'm curious about setup costs too. My WC said 20% of their cost would apply to things I bring other than favors, menus, table numbers. Wondered if it was the personalization part that allows it to be used free.

I just got an email saying the suite is confirmed for June. I have been emailing Vanessa, she is the spa manager.  spa.nolpc@nowresorts.com

Thanks you so much! I really appreciate the info! I'm dying to get the pricing for extras from the resort to start planning.

If I hear anything I'll be sure to post :)

Thanks again!

That's exactly who we are using.   We really wanted things to be simple... this is going to be our gift to everyone, vs. doing a tote bag or any other kind of favor.  I can't wait!

@@AshleyNYC323 OMG! That's so awesome! How is your planning going? We're planning on doing a reception on the boat! Isn't it so cool how they can pick up your guests on the beach at the resort? Unfortunately I'm staying at a resort where they can't do this.

It is cool - that is a big part of why we picked them ... we just want everything to be super simple.

Our planning is pretty much done!    We have all of our final RSVPs and everyone's final payment is due Jan 15.

After that, I just need to move across the country, find a new job, find a house.... lol

Our life situation is funny so the wedding is actually last on my list right now.

How about yours???

    • Good afternoon, I wanted to inquire if anyone has or knows someone who got married at this resort. How was it? How are the coordinators? Packages that were chosen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.   Thanks.
    • Hi all! I know this is an old thread... but just in case there are other destination wedding brides out there with the same question, I thought I would answer! My guy and I live in Texas and just got our marriage license (yay!). We are getting married in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The Dallas County clerk informed us that we can get our marriage license in Texas, bring it and a Texas-registered officiant to Mexico, have the ceremony in Mexico, then bring the marriage license back to Texas to file and it will be LEGAL in the US.  In  other words, we can legally get married in Mexico using our Texas marriage license and officiant (who is a family friend), then file the paperwork when we get home. Where it says 'county in which ceremony was performed' on the license, we just put in Playa del Carmen, Mexico and bam! Married :) I do not know if this is true for other states, but it is CONFIRMED for Texas! I suggest asking the clerk when you register for your marriage license. I am overjoyed that we can have a US-legal marriage in Mexico so our wedding date on our license will be the actual day! NO blood tests, or getting married before or after the trip required!
    • Every Bride spends a lot of time researching and worrying about her perfect wedding dress. While many Indian brides choose the traditional red colour for their bridal gown, a few of them find some different colours to wear on their special day. Here is a description of how to choose an Indian wedding dress that suits your skin tone. 1) Fair complexion: You can choose any shade of blue or bright shades of pink and red. In the shades of blue- select scuba blue or royal blue. Among other colours this season, you can pick up your dress in tangerine.   2) Wheatish complexion Just select those colours which bring out the warmth in your complexion. Some of the best options for you are tangy orange, saffron yellow, vibrant shades of red, mint green and hot pink.   3) Dusky complexion: If you have an olive skin tone, then you can pull off any rich and dark colour quite well. So, the colours like classic blue, marsala, burnt orange and brick red are just perfect for you. Also the metallic silver, gold and bronze will even flatter your face pretty well
    • I will be using the hPage Website Builder to create a free website for our wedding. I am planning to post wedding updates, wedding photos, wedding reminders, and wedding articles regarding our upcoming marriage there. For RSVP, I am using Facebook events since almost all we invited have facebook and it would be easier to get their "yes" or "no" confirmation there. In case anyone is interested as well here's their site: hPage Website Builder - https://www.hpage.com
