What you are saying makes absolute sense.

We have 2 couples that came to Mexico with us that went to Vegas on a whim this weekend. And then are joining us again in August!!!   Sure I sit here and think 'must be nice to travel all the time' but it doesn't go much farther than that. I think ' I WISH!" hahaha and am happy for them that they can do that.  Everyone has a different situation though.  They don't have kids, I have 2.  We can't travel that easy because of that responsibility. We also have a very short time frame to save up for our down payment for a house. We have to be out of our current rental in September but hope that we can maybe purchase in 3 months because the market is starting to become VERY favorable.

So everyone has a story and it's ok to think 'man I wish I had that' but you don't really mean it and you don't let it affect your communication and friendships with them.  When it does get in the way I honestly believe there is a lot more going on than meets the eye and it may be best to distance yourself from it.  If the friendship is meant to be, it will be be, but it's got to be mutual.
