I love the shoes and veil! Very gorgeous! The veil is the type I'm looking for with the sparkle. Do you mind me asking how much it cost? Maybe I'll have to go to David's at the end of the summer and take a look. Looks like everything is coming together nicely for you now! So exciting!

@tinkersofi  The girl in Davids mentioned the petals and I'm going to get some. The ones in David's are $9 but she said Dr Scholl's makes them too, so I'm going to look for them. She said the same thing and with the style of the shoes my foot is definitely going to be sliding forward so I want to try them out with a pair of shoes at work first. I think it's a cool idea.

As to the table colours the thing is, we're only having one long rectangular table - we're only 10 in total - so that's why I was worried about overdoing the colour. But we'll be doing the restaurants napkins and stuff so the only colour I want, except for souvenir maracas at each place setting, is the chair bows and table runner. Joyce has said we'll use to the two small bouquets from the gazebo for table centerpieces and my bouquet at the cake table, then some LED candles on the table and that's it. We aren't a big enough group for anything more than that. It's ok - if I start lugging suitcases and suitcases of stuff Doug will have a fit! lol I know everything I have will be one bag and that's it.

@yycbride2016  Absolutely go and check out David's. The veil was $80 and it's going to cost me $34 to have it shortened. It's just a bit too long and we were working with the fullness of my dress. I also want to have a layer of crinoline taken out of my dress but I only want the veil at about 36 inches. This one is 40. Well at least I think that's what I'm thinking right now. They had veils all different lengths and prices. I didn't even realize I had picked one so cheap until she told me the price. I just went for the sparkle because it so closely matched my dress lol Plus the salesgirl was talking about how nice it would look in pictures with the sparkle so I picked it!

I haven't seen my dress yet even though its been delivered and I won't get to see it until the beginning of August. We'll pick it up on the way back from vacation from my son's in the US but I can't open it until we're home and I'm somewhere Doug won't see it. At least it arrived safely which is the only thing I was worried about!!

I bought the dr. Scholl petals once but they are made out of plastic, so you can imagine what happens when it gets hot haha I like the petals ones because they're like a foam material, not the jelly plastic. They're a little more expensive but they seem more comfortable in my opinion.

That makes sense for the table, and especially given that it's only one table, I would definitely add the table runner in blue. Otherwise it might look like it needs something extra :)

Awesome! I think once I get my dress back at the end of the summer I will go check out David's veils! Thanks! Thats such a good price. The woman offered me one that I tried on at the store for $100, which is a good price but I feel like I can find one cheaper still.

@@acw271011 just catching up on your thread! I LOVE your shoes and veil, the whole look is really coming together nicely! I'm still debating the whole veil idea. I think I want one but I need to bring in my dress with me when I'm shopping for it. I thought I would borrow my maid of honour's veil but when I put them together it made my dress look yellow. :(

Excited to see your shoes in the horizon colour!

Most of you are probably too young to remember a tv commercial that used to be on. It was for bath stuff. Well for me today - Calgon, take me awaaaay!!!! (the product was called Calgon bath oil beads!)  It has been that kind of day today and I'm on vacation countdown so it makes it even worse!

@TinkerSofi  Thanks for the heads up. That's good to know on the shoe thingys. I'll pay for the good ones. Do you know of anywhere besides Davids that sells them? Is it the brand name that is also Petals, or just what they call them?

@@yycbride2016 I still say check out the other website I gave you - www.preownedweddingdresses.com  I've spent a lot of time there and they have some awesome deals! I really considered getting either a used dress or a sample or something when Doug asked me to try and cut the cost back. And I looked there first for veils but didn't want to decided until I knew what I wanted. I only went in to Davids the other night to have a look and try to find a style and length that I liked, mostly because I'm still not 150% on the veil. But the deal was too good to pass up. At worst I'll sell it if I don't wear it. In the end I got my dress for $679 US and $45 for shipping. I just can't argue with that and neither can Doug!!! lol

@@snswedding2016 Thank you! I'm excited to see them in the horizon too! lol  I'm still not "on" with the veil either, not totally anyway. I saw some wedding photos here with the veil worked in in the way that I'm thinking and I LOVE the overall effect. I showed the picture to the lady in Davids and she's the one that said the sparkle in the veil will get picked up by the sparkle in my dress so she had her "thinking cap" on! lol

@@MrsCtoB Thanks!! Good to see you back! You should stop in more often! lol I talked to our TA again yesterday and he said to call him both tomorrow after 3 and Thursday after 3 and he put an alert onto VIM for us. He's fairly sure pricing still has room to come down but I'm thinking we'll get booked this week. He raved about the property and kept telling me how well they look after you. Even though we aren't doing our renewal there, he's going to talk to the rep here and see if they'll consider upgrading us! Now that would be the icing on the cake!! lol

Oh for sure, I'm keeping my eye out for one at a few different places. Ordering online still makes me nervous for a veil. (just worried it wont match). I can't believe the price you paid for your dress! Well done! Thats a great deal. I bet Doug is supper happy with that. I know for me Kyle didnt care what I spent (but obviously not a crazy amount). I had told him I only wanted to spend $500 but he knows me too well and wasn't suprised when I spent just shy of $1000. Oh well... We're worth it right ;)

Juan thought I'd be spending like $3000 haha. When I told him my budget was $1500 he was like "good luck", and then when I told him that my dress cost $800, he asked me whether it was nice bahahaha. He just couldn't believe I got something nice for that price.

@@TinkerSofi hahah that is too funny. Kyle is actually opposite to me. I love to save as much money as possibe (which is great for this wedding planning) and he loves expensive things. I wouldn't be surprised if he spends the same amount on a suit for the wedding as I spent on the dress. Although it makes more sense for him because he can wear it again in the future whereas my dress is done after the wedding :( I created a budget early on and when he saw how much I had alloted for a suit he thought I was crazy and that I didnt want him to look good haha. I know that if he looks at the right time of year and keeps his eye out for sales (which he wont do) then we could get a great price on a nice suit. Men... haha

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
