me too! haha. I didn't choose a mermaid dress but only because I seemed to be the only one who loved them and neither my mom or my MOH thought they were really "me" haha. However, I am totally an ocean girl too so I'm obsessed with mermaids too :)

I didn't get a "Mermaid Style" dress either...but the details on it remind me of a mermaid :)

Another update I forgot about yesterday because I was so tired. We started our registry :). Originally we weren't going to but then everyone started asking us what we wanted. We told them that we didn't want any gifts but they insisted. We were torn between asking for money and opening a registry. However, then we thought, when you give money, sometimes you don't have a lot but you don't want to look bad by giving too little. With a gift you might not spend a lot but still look good :). We also need everything from wooden spoons to a vacuum cleaner, so it will come in handy for us anyway.

It was fun! going around and scanning things. I think we will end up buying the most expensive items ourselves, but the good thing is that we get 10% off on anything we don't get for our wedding and we have a year to buy those things.

We're still telling people we don't expect gifts but we made a list of things we want to buy for our house.

That reminds me when I sent a picture of my dress to my MOH in Argentina, the first thing she said was "it gives you a mermaid butt!" hahaha

People keep asking us what we want too but we have been living together for 9 years and we have a small apartment so I really can't have anymore stuff! I'm telling them to take lots of pictures and videos on our trip and share them with us...but how fun to scan all the things you want!! That would of been so fun :)

We only have a bed, a TV and a few items that I've been getting in the last year like a food processor, some plates and things like that. We still need most things though :P

You don't really realize how much you have or in your case need until you start looking around!!! Sometimes it's hard to believe what I've accumulated over the years!!! It'll all come together in your beautiful new home :)

@@Meandhim - if people keep asking you about gifts, have you thought about starting a honeymoon registry? That is if you're planning on taking a honeymoon. It basically acts as cash to use towards your honeymoon but you can register for things like a room upgrade or spa packages. My fiancé and I did this even though we have said gifts are not necessary (mainly for family who has been asking about gifts and are not coming to the wedding but insist on giving a present anyway). We also have been living together for a while and don't really need anything, we thought this was a nice way to still have a registry. Saying "no gifts" doesn't seem to work for some family members. ;)

It's true, when we first came to Canada we literally didn't have anything. We lived in a furnished apartment for the first 3 months and when we moved we realized we had gotten so many things in just 3 months! It was crazy.

I thought that was a great idea for people who already have most things :)

Survival Kit Tags

I made the tags for the survival kits. I'll just be trying them with a ribbon and adding a business card sized card. I'm so proud because I made these myself, usually my mom has been helping me out haha. I used photoshop and I bought the Mexico Owl clipart from Etsy. I wanted to go for a fun/cute feel for the stationery in the bags.

I think a monster has been born, there's so many cute vectors and design things!! I need to design more now hahah. I've always been a bit obsessed with paper products and stationery to be honest but this is just too much fun!

While searching for things I came across this gem http://www.freepik.com/They have tons of free vectors, backgrounds, wedding invitations and stationery packages. I really wish I had come across this earlier, I would have totally chosen one of their invites rather than going through the trouble of making them myself. Anyway, it's great!

That is awesome! I love the little caption!

I am going to check out that website, it is too bad you didn't know about it earlier (and me too haha).... but you did an awesome job on your invites!

haha, I stole the caption from some other survival kit from Etsy. They had that as sort of the "name" of the emergency kit haha and I just thought it would be funny to add it in there. Too bad I didn't have a hangover owl to put on there hahah!

That website is so great! So many nice things. Now I'm going to design stationery and signs for everything in life. I'll be that girl :P

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
