@TinkerSofi Thanks! It was a lot of fun!
I've always been drawn to certain necklines and even more so backlines (lol is that even a thing?? - that is to say I LOVE low backs). I was pretty confident in the silhouette I wanted and every time I went into a bridal store I just felt overwhelmed, didn't wanted to even sift through any of the dresses ...is that weird? When my bridesmaids gave me that gift certificate for a custom made dress, I took that as I sign. I was nervous at times but just tried to trust the process.
It has been sitting in my closet since the end of Jan ....a year before my wedding! I just want to put it on and prance around my house all the time. LOL! I have to admit that a couple of times I've made my fiance stay in the bedroom while I put my dress on in the living room. Sometimes you just want to wear it and remind yourself of how much you love it!
I agree with you! I've tried it on so many times already just to see how it looks hahah. I find you tend to forget over time. I bought a sample gown also a bit over a year before our wedding so it's been sitting there for a while now too. I can't wait to do the final alterations and see how it will really look . Right now it's way too long so I can't really parade around it that much unless I want to trip or ruin the dress (both not very fun options).
I think the whole wedding gown shopping is not for everyone. I know a few people who get really overwhelmed just thinking about it, so I think you made the right choice in your case. For me, I found that it was so much fun trying all these things on! I kinda wish I had tried on more, but I found my dress pretty quickly. I think if I had gone the custom dress route I would have kept wondering what else was out there. Maybe a lot of it has to do with how specific the image in your head is . Mine wasn't very specific at all! ahah
