I have yet to address the envelopes, but some of my friends who are getting married this year had some pretty cleaver ways of finding out names. Twice I was asked "How do you sleep your boyfriends (we werent engaged yet) name." In the end they admitted that they had forgotten his name, but knew it was spelt differently. He was very happy to see his name on the invite. I think its a nice personal touch to make sure you have all names included.

I agree - I hate it when something arrives not acknowledging me and only addresses him - it's really rude. We took care of this this morning - he definitely gave me some push back for it being so tedious! He ended up filling out these envelopes himself so that he can text them individually for more info as he goes along. He bitched about it for a while then got over it lol

@kmk2016 you're so polite and always so proper  :) . Wr went the informal route. We put the name of both people on the envelopes. Facebook really came through for us here haha. Otherwise we asked. For example, my maid of honor's boyfriend is called Sunny but I knew that wasn't his real name so I just asked her. In the end she just said to put Sunny because that's how everyone calls him.

I also needed the correct spelling for everyone's names and last names to put on the RSVPs on our website. Again, facebook was great help and just asking around.

Hahahahhahaha proper? Love it!!! Hahaha truth be told my FI was just too lazy to get his ass off the couch and phone his mom to ask about some of the spouses name spelling so we went with Mr/Mrs... He doesn't have FB either so I could even try to creep his guests! Haha only good thing is most of the "friend" guests are our mutual friends and I knew their names. There were a couple friends kids who I didn't know names of... I got them all from creeping (my side) but "and family" were addressed on his!

(We needed actual names for website RSVP too- so I ended up calling his mom myself once I realized on the day we mailed invites. Oh well!) there was actually one friend of his who's kids are STILL named "son" and "daughter" in the online RSVP cause he didn't get me their names!

LOL! It's definitely not easy to get these guys to do things. I'm so glad I did though - most of his friends from work tend to call each other by nickname or by last name - some people he had trouble remembering their real names and had no idea of their spouse's names! There were even some relatives where he realized their last name were different and he didn't know what they were. When it came to Facebook - many of his friends don't put their real names, so I couldn't use Facebook for many people. My side was easier since it was much smaller and I know everyones names.

Glad I made him do a little work though! It was nice to sit back and let him do take care of it (once he stopped bitching)

haha. You just always seem to have the right way of doing things that won't make you look bad, or the right way of saying things. It's definitely a good skill!

I think some of it comes from your profession -- what do you guys do?

I am a nurse and can soften anything over, it's a skill I acquired or maybe already had? haha!

@calgarybride2015 I do psych assessments! hahaha so I should be pretty good. My fiance always accuses me of sugar coating everything

@Lia33 thankfully it isn't too hard to get my fiance involved but he's always like "ok, that's good enough, whatever" and i'm more of a perfectionist.  We were going over how we wanted to decorate the reception the other day and he kept asking me if we were done haha.

Guys don't care about stuff like that, that is forsure.  My fiance will talk about it and throw out an idea, but it's more that he exes or agrees with my ideas.  Generally I like this idea as I get what I want, but sometimes I am indecisive and could use his help! (like picking a day for photos, ugh!).   What is nice is that when I want something but can't justify the cost he tells me to just do it - so that is nice hehe!

mine is the same. He always tells me "why are you asking me if you already made your decision?" so I do get away with a lot of what I want but I try as much as I can to also include his opinions. He didn't want a TTD so we're not doing it. I wanted a pinata but he didn't so I guess we're not doing it (although I have a year to convince him otherwise, muahaha).
