I agree with maybe 2 at the alter.  Those are pretty big pillars, then a large flower on top my fear is you may block the view of some of the guests.

Yes I don't love the pillars but im trying to incorporate the centrepieces to get more of a bang for my buck haha. I asked Zuniga what other pedestal options they have

I'm picking up our welcome bags from the post office tonight! Super excited to get them but I got dinged with a $39 customs fee bleh

What about those centerpieces right on the floor? I saw a picture on here once where she had mason jars lining the isle. They were glass. Just an idea.

Darn customs! But exciting. We got our maracas and laid them all out on the basement table. They look so pretty hehe.

May do the tumblers still. It's funny cause I saw them at Dollarama last night for $2 each and was like 'eww $88' that's expensive' (bubba's are way more!!) and then went to the casino which would have paid for them. hahahah I will probably just buy them if another store has a lot left as the one by my house only had half.

The Weddingchicks bags arrived, and they look fantastic!! I am so excited to give these out.  i'm tempted to start using one now, but I also want to keep it a surprise for our guests :).  I got 20 in the peach colour and 20 in mint green (for the dudes)

@@calgarybride2015 - Haha I love the rationale!  If you do get them, go now!  I'm not sure if they're a seasonal item or if they have them year round.  I had to go to 3 different dollaramas to get enough tumblers.  If you get them, make sure to look them over because some are cracked

@@kcole123 - Ooh I'd still like to see! :)  Post a pic, Kristy!  I know you ordered the individualized ones too, right? Would love to see those

I debated putting our names on them or not - I know it's obviously better not to so people can use it again, and for other things I'm just doing "Cancun 2014", but I really wanted to put our date on the bags becuase I want it for myself too haha.

Those are freaking fantastic!!!!

Everyone will love them.  I also get you on not using things yet to spoil the surprise but you just want too!

I found 2 dollaramas yesterday that would have enough for me, so if I am going to do it - I will tomorrow on my day off.  I am sure they are seasonal, and thanks for the tips on the cracks!  Wonder how well they will travel?

Fiance and I looked on discount mugs last night and found a nice, slim double insulated tumbler but it's $100 shipping NOT!!!  Nothing compares to the bubba and no other travel mug intrigues me, so the tumbler it will be if I do it.

How did you do your labels for them?  Davit Designs on Etsy is fantastic but $20 to ship to Canada. I may pop into Michaels tomorrow and find some waterproof labels and make my own.

Edit-fiance really likes the idea of hangover kits, so the tumblers would nicely house these items! Lots to decide (and I thought I was done my shopping!)

Wow @@tygrrlily You have really done an incredible job!! The time and effort you've put into all of this is amazing!!!!  I so can't wait to see pics when it all comes together!! The flowers are gorgeous.....  so I checked out their website and hmmmm...... bears some thinking about! Did you really find the prices were that much better than the prices in Mexico, or is it just because of the resort prices??

It's all going to come together beautifully!

@@calgarybride2015 - I haven't gotten the labels yet.  I'm pretty cheap with certain things, and the $20+ shipping fee to Canada for a sheet of stickers strikes me as kind of ridiculous.  I tried to design my own and looked into getting them printed here, but my FI said the davet ones were a lot nicer haha. So I am going to order them (I'm fine with the actual price of the stickers) but I'm going to ship them to eiher  Buffalo or Orlando when we're there in October

@@acw271011 - Thank you! I do hope it comes together nicely :)

I got the brochure for bouquets through the resort and they are ridiculous.  Like $300 for a very average bouquet and $20 for a boutineire. I didn't know/think about outside vendors like Maya Floral when I first started planning... I think the flowers were one of the first things I bought for the wedding a couple of months ago.  So it is a lot cheaper than the resort flowers (or our resort at least!), but if you want fresh, I've seen some lovely bouquets Marvin has done. I'm not sure about the pricing on them, but he's been reasonable for centerpieces so I'd imagine they'd be fine. I was also somewhat picky in that I really wanted peonies in my bouquet and I know they're super expensive in Mexico, so this was a way for me to get them.  I also just really fell in love with Judy's flowers and it was a bit of an impulse buy, but I am looking forward to getting them :)

Border shipping!! Unfortunately I'm too far away. I got to do it the once cause we were on holidays.

My resort bouquet prices were stupid high too. Same idea on prices so I almost didn't get them flowers. But I was like 'come on' so I asked to quote 3 gerber daisies with greenery and ribbon for the BMs (mine is included) and it was only $22. Shocked me. Maybe theirs are more fantastic for the listed price? Lol. But the bouts are still listed at $17. Didn't ask for a re quote on those so hoping they will actually be cheaper but budgeted for them at that price. Seems off in comparison to bouquet price.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
