Any Wedding Dress Regrets?

Recommended Posts

I totally can relate where you are all coming from.

When I went to the bridal store on Saturday for hair pieces I saw a gorgeous dress!! I was like 'ahhhh I love that', but you know what? You will always find something else you love - always.  Whether it be a dress, or shoes, or a car or whatever!  You won't just love ONE thing only.  So I think it's normal.  Just remind yourself you already bought one and why you loved it in the first place!

I am just starting to look for a dress but want to lose some weight too.  Do you think I should try on dresses now to decide what type I want and then lose to weight or should I just wait until I have lost some?

that's so true! I better not tell that to my fiance hahah, he's going to wonder who else I love :P hahaha

There's always going to be something better, something fancier, etc. but if you keep thinking of it you will go crazy. When I started focusing on why I love my dress I stopped wondering about other dresses.

HAHA!!!

It was my fiance that told me that to be honest, but it is so true!

Exactly -- I swear this is all a big MIND GAME!

Tricky question.

You could to get some ideas, but if you lose a lot of weight you may find that your style changes, or that you may look better in a style that you would never have considered due to current weight.  So many ways to look at it. End of the day, it causes no harm, so why not?  I'm not sure I would buy it yet, because sometimes alterations can be a lot more than just waiting to get the right size or close enough to the right size. Up to you though.

Ok Girls,

So I got a call on Friday from the Bridal House saying my dress had arrived. So then they asked when I wanted to "visit the dress." so of course I couldn't wait and wanted to head out and drive two hours to see it on Saturday. So I seen my dress, tried it on, and played around with the kind of belts I would want. At first I was so set on wanting a flowered belt just because I figured that would go nicer with the dress I chose. But when I was trying on flowered belts they just didn't look right with the dress. I ended up going with the blingy belt because soon as I tried a blingy one on I was instantly happy with the overall look of the dress. It made a real difference to how I looked at the dress. Guess it's true what they say, "what you envision is not what you will probably end up with." So yes of course I took some pictures and here is the latest picture of me in my dress with the belt.

Alterations will be starting in January. Time is flying.

@@kcole123...I am on my second dress.  I am still not sure.  My son (who is giving me away) doesn't like the second dress.  He said it is not sophisticated enough.  So I am not sure if I am going to look again.  I think I am going to wait a few months and then see how I feel.  It is so hard when I had a dress in mind and I don't think either that I have originally picked out fit the vision.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
