Are any ladies having a rehearsal for their ceremony?

I am having a beach front wedding ceremony with 2 young children involved. My wedding venue closes for the evening to all public and then one hour later our ceremony will start. I am wondering if that's going to be too short of time for everything to get set up and run smoothly.

There is an on site wedding coordinator and what I have found is that she is very attentive, but I am wondering if I should do a run through the day before?

My officiant is wonderful and I think she may have mentioned that I do not need to do a rehearsel but Im worried that without it the kids wont know what to do.

We are not having a wedding party so it would just be the kids, us and my father who need to do the run through.

What are you doing? Are you having a rehearsel?

Even if you don't have a "rehearsal" it would be a very good idea to have the participants meet at the wedding location with the coordinator and have her explain who will be where and how things will go.

The adults need to understand what is going to be expected of them because they will be taking cues from the music, etc but they need to know the plan.  If something doesn't go as planned (and something ALWAYS comes up) they can work with it.

It's much better to do this at the actual site rather than just sitting down and talking.

Have fun!

Thank you everyone for taking time out to help me out! After hearing your thoughts, it seals the deal for a rehearsal.

I think I will talk to the coordinator. Maybe Ill wait until the club closes the day before and so a run through.

I am hoping the on site coordinator will be there to help guide the ceremony etc...

Yes, having a rehearsal. Want to make sure everyone has a good idea where they should be and when the music should start etc. Think its always a good idea to always have at least one run through.

@LisaAnthonyPoppy  We plan on having all the wedding party, parents, minister, and wedding coordinator present. Anyone who will be walking down the aisle/anyone who will have a special role in the ceremony we plan to include. Our resort offers a rehearsal as part of most packages so we decided we definitely want to take advantage. We are getting married on the beach in the evening so the WC has told me that we will meet the day before the wedding at the same time the wedding is set to take place. We will run through the order of the wedding party and who will go down the aisle when. We will test the music to make sure she knows when we would like the music to begin and end. The minister will do a brief run through and show us where to stand, when to exchange rings, etc.

It is very hard when you are planning a destination wedding so far away from the actual location but if its something that you feel would make you more comfortable its worth looking into/asking about.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
