Booked My Date! I'm A Palace Bride

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

Today I officially booked my date for June 17, 2016 at Playacar Palace. I know it's far out but I'm a planner. I chose the complimentary ceremony package and am planning on bringing ivory organza chair sashes for the ceremony. I am a very crafty person and a real DIYer. I am working on bridesmaid boxes and I'll post pics when I'm done. I plan to purchase items for the big week little by little on sale with coupons. I have a 6:00 ceremony scheduled but I feel we probably should do 5:00. Any tips, suggestions, words of advice, or general conversation would be greatly appreciated.

Wow - they actually let you book that far out? I'm getting worried about booking my off site now. Think I'll check with the planner again......

@@acw271011 yes they did surprisingly. I'm glad though as it gives plenty of time for our friends and family to pay, save, and plan for work. Now, I'm just hoping it all works out or I will have to choose another location completely.

What could cause you to choose another location completely? You have your date booked at a resort you like! That's a great thing! I'm February 2016 and our flight/resort block is active and my date and locations for ceremony and reception are reserved! Nothing better than planning ahead!

Wow you guys are way ahead. We are playing on a February or March 2016 Wedding, I just can't seem to find a location that I want to go with. Any suggestions on how you decided on those hotels? I, too, am looking to do the complimentary package of whatever hotel I choose.

You want to work with a TA that specializes in destination weddings and decide what's truly important for you in a resort and ask them for suggestions on locations that for your needs. There is a lot of options so make sure you know your "must haves" and work from there. For us Karisma properties were a no brainer because of their gourmet inclusive concept... Then we narrowed it down within their properties and finally did a site visit to be sure we chose the one that suited us best!

WOW congrats on choosing and great planning ahead!

I'm getting worried because I'm hoping for Aug 1 2015 but haven't booked it yet! I need to get on that.

I keep second guessing myself on resorts. I think I'm committed to Palace but can't decide now between Moon/Beach/Playacar!

Yes I love Playa del Carmen. Only downfall is Playacar has a 4 night minimum. So I'm starting to consider beach palace. Moon palace is very nice as well but we are in our 20s so being so isolated isn't what we're looking for

I decided on Palace because they seemed to have the most to offer for what I was looking for. I love RIU Resorts but my friends vacation there on a regular so I wanted the place for our wedding to be special

I'm in Canada and most of our packages are for one week so that's fine with me!

The only thing that concerns me at Playacar is that it's a small resort and could get booked up before all my guests book... and I've heard the beach has a lot of randoms on it during the wedding ceremonies!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
