Recommended Posts

Hi

Newbie here.  Very Excited.  Doing a site visit to the 3 above in August of this year.

Our criteria are in order:

1.  Beach

2.  Beautiful swimmable water

3.  Kid friendly

4.  Ceremony and Reception on Beach

anyone have any personal experiences on the 3?

anyone have a resort we didnt think of?

I dont want cancun or the iberostars.  I dont like having THAT many people on top of me for my wedding.

Thanks and congrats to all!

We chose Dreams Tulum because of the beach and the we really wanted ceremony and reception on beach. Tulum is gorgeous and we couldn't be happier with our choice. They are kid friendly as well. We are getting married there next April. We also liked that every 6th room booked is FREE meaning we get that credit towards our stay or our wedding which is awesome. The ground are gorgeous and have a true Mexican feel which I wanted. It is small enough but not too small that we can hang out with our guests and not get lost like in large resorts trying to find friends. There are so many options and Dreams Tulum is one of them.Good luck!

Welcome to BDW and congrats on preparing for your DW!

I would highly recommend that you read the resort reviews section and see what past brides have said about those 3 resorts. As well, do a search through the forums for those 3 resorts and do some reading. It's almost a guarantee that you'll find comments and information from past and present brides and what they have experienced in terms of dealing with the wedding coordinators, outside vendor fees, availability of locations, menus, etc.

This site is a fountain of information and it's well worth taking some time to read through what is here!

Good luck and happy planning!

We stayed at RPRM in December, food is great, service amazing. The rooms... Meh. Mold on everything and very strong mildew smell. The resort is beautiful though. However, my room always felt damp and I had a hard time sleeping on damp sheets. I saw two weddings at the gazebo... They were small and intimate, but the gazebo is RIGHT next to the pool. And very noisy from the pool music and activities. It's also next to the gym/spa so there will be passerbys. I didn't see any beach weddings. I was looking into Riu Palace Mexico, people I know that's stayed there has had no complaints. Bit for my wedding I voted Playacar Palace

I was also looking for fees for playacar palace. I'm unable to find any topics on them. Especially the fees for a wedding over 30 people. I know the outside vendor fees are 800

We considered dreams but all the resorts had our date booked. Then we were going for hardrock but the rooms seemed small and the beach eh...so we picked now jade...rooms are 700sq ft and we will have 2 kids with us and then send them with relatives a few nights so accommodations were imp to is...beach looks nice and jacuzzi on the balcony lol. Prices were comparable. Hardrock does offer great benefits when you have more then 75 room nights...unlimited private events which can save tons if you are doing welcome dinner, rehearsal, and wedding.,..plus every so many rooms you get one night and resort credit per room

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
