2015 Brides!

I am very jealous of all you ladies who already have dates and places picked for your 2015 weddings!

I started out with a travel agent in my home town, but I feel like getting quotes back on places is taking forever with her. Through the forums here I learned about a TA that a lot of ladies on here seem to be using. I emailed her to see if I could get her assistance, and it has been 2 days since I last received an email from her :(   I am now not sure if I should send her an email, and if so, saying what?

Ugh! I just want a couple quotes so my FI and I can lock down a destination. Right now I am feeling stressed and frustrated.

Keep in mind that for later 2015, your TA has to manually request quotes from the tour operators/resorts and may be slow to reply to them so they can provide the info to you. Don't be afraid to pick up the phone to ask for an update from your TA and she can let you know what things she is working on for you!

Hang in there!

Thanks for the encouragement. I contacted my original TA and she said she still hasnt received any new information and she will contact me as soon as she does. From this site I have also learned that manual requests from TA can take a while. How long do brides suggest I wait for a response?   I am trying my best to have patiences, but this last week has been especially trying.

Thank you for all the helpful advice and responses!!

@@MissJen3 When I was researching resorts I looked at dates for this year rather than next year to get an idea of package pricing. I used bookit.com and cheapcaribbean.com to get my pricing info.

@@MissJen3 No problem! I know I was stressed when I was researching resorts and trying to pick one because I wanted to book the date! I actually had emailed the resort on my own first and I think the next day before I heard back from them I was looking into TA's and after talking with her they had replied back so from there I copied her onto all the emails so she could be in the loop. It's probably better to just book the resort on your own rather than waiting for the TA because you have to wait for the resort to email the TA and then the TA to get back to you. Good luck!

Quotes generally took a week for us.....  It was frustrating but hang in there.

I took your advice and emailed the resort with my date and they did email me back with a general 'thank you for your Iinterest' email. At this point Im not sure if I should email again with the sate or if I should wait for my TA tocome back from vavacation on August 5.

OHH what one did you decide on?  I'd give the resort 3-5 days to respond.  Some took a week!  They get 100's of emails a day I would assume. If you haven't heard back in a week either email them again, or get your TA too. Sometimes they get a better initial response.  My TA did all communication for me until I booked the wedding, now I have done it all  myself. Good luck!  This is probably the most stressful stage.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
