Maybe the Miami coordinators aren't aware yet and it's something that employees at the hotel have been following for some time, so they would find out first when the deal goes through.

Any brides here leaving from Toronto this year? If so, when? I've emailed out travel agent with a question but I'm wondering if anyone here might know.

Did Brigitte quit :(? I got an e-mail from a new coordinator today. Too bad I really, liked Brigitte, but at least the new coordinator introduced herself so that's a good sign right? I've heard of other brides trying to contact their WC for weeks before finding out they had been switched to someone else.

Well I put my application in with our date and the site we want last week, and haven't heard from anyone since. The bounce back says you'll hear from someone within 48 business hours. I suppose that could be counted as 2 weeks? if you think about it as 7 or 8 hours is a business day, that's 6 to 7 business days. Guess I should just sit tight....

The problem is..... all of a sudden all of the tour companies have pulled out of Azul Fives except for Transat in October. And Transat is only going Saturday and Sunday. Which now creates a problem. We have friends that want to leave on a Wednesday or Thursday and now all of a sudden I have no departure day for them.

I really thought we had found our resort..... finally. Now I'm not so sure.

@@acw271011 Starting this year Transat is the only one that travels to Azul Fives. I'm not sure if the same applies for october, but transat only goes down there once a week during low season. We wanted to stay 3 more days after everyone left, but that implied paying for a whole other week and that was too much for us. Are they able to book the flight and room separately? I know that can be a bit more expensive but it might be a choice.

What ticks me off is I picked the resort based on what I was reading when I pulled up October. Everyone was going - Westjet, Sunwing & Transat. It's in Sunwing's book too. Then all of a sudden I'm looking for days and all I get is saturday and sunday. At this point I don't know what to do. These people own their own business and wanted to be away only one weekend. If they saturday it means they're away 2 of their busiest days, friday being the other one. I feel so bad now because we saw them on the weekend and they got all excited about the resort and how gorgeous it is.

I'm just not sure what to do. The other alternative was Paradisus La Perla and it's quite a bit more expensive. We don't qualify for a group rate because we're only between 6 and 10, and four might be coming from the UK so they're on totally different arrangements. I have no way of knowing how much rates will drop  so have no way of advising anyone on what rates might end up being.

I would get quotes for people not in a package vacation. Initially we had a couple that didn't know if they could come the whole week, so our TA told me that she could get them another quote for less days.

Just wondered how you heard that Transat were the only ones going to AF and if you heard why? Makes me worry more about the resort if other tour operators are taking it off their property list.

Ohhhh, no.... What date did you request for your wedding?

I put my application in yesterday, asked for mid-Dec 2015... Have you checked your junk mail perhaps? Quite a few brides mentioned that these email went to their spam folder...

Good luckkk, holding my fingers crossed for you!

My TA told me when we booked. I told her that some people were thinking about booking on their own so they could wait to find cheaper prices. My TA then said that since transat is the only one that goes there, if there was a cheaper price we could all get a refund so it was in their best interest and mine for them to book with the group.

Tons of hotels have only one tour company going there, not sure why but we've gone to hotels in Cancun where only sunwing goes, and they were good. My guess is that it's all part of a contract and/or a bidding process. In one way it's bad, because there's no competition for that hotel, which means they can tecnically charge what they want, but on the other side it's good for people like me, it really discourages guests to book on their own so I get more perks :). I'm not sure how much the hotel was last year for the same time with different travel companies so I can't really speak as to whether they're more expensive now or back then. However, considering another hotel we looked into, we booked AF for $100 more and it's a much much better hotel, so I think we got a good deal.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
