Hey Megsweet, Thank you! It took me ages to find the perfect dress so I am so happy I've finally got it. I am not sure what to trade the cocktail hour for, what about you? I have contacted Claudia as she's my co- ordinator because I wanted to change the ceromony time. But she hasn't got back to me. She does generally take around 2-3 weeks to reply in my experience. I'm going to hire a personal trainer after Christmas as I have my final fitting in January. Lol

Hi all... thank you for starting this thread! My date is 3/29/2014.  Wedding at 4 at the gazebo, break for pictures, 6-7 cocktail hour (I am keeping it because I love the idea of the mariachi band, and also I wanted to have some portion of the party outside) and I extended the reception an hour to do 7-11, in the ballroom.  I saw someone asking for a pic of the ballroom... if you google Dreams Cancun Ballroom, in images, the first pic that comes up is an Elizabeth Medina photo of the ballroom all done up, and it looks gorgeous.  I chose to go w/ the ballroom too bc of the dancing/sweating aspect. We decided to go with an outside photographer and dj... using cancun studios as the photographer and dj doremixx as the dj.  Ended up choosing both of them based on reviews and following them for a bit on facebook.  We chose the dreams ultimate package, so I am currently trying to swap out the photographer that they include for something... and all they are offering me is either a sound system for the ceremony or the drapes and flowers for the gazebo, which does not seem comparable in my opinion... anyone else have this issue?? Either way, I am super excited.  Save the dates went out awhile ago, now I am just waiting on my invitations to get here so I can start that process.  Curious to hear what everyone is bringing as far as decorations go vs. what they are paying to have dreams provide?  My thoughts are to bring the programs, chair sashes, favors, and table place cards... and have them do everything else. Also... for anyone interested, I decided on getting two dresses, so I can swap out for the reception.  David's Bridal has super affordable short dresses, for anyone who really likes to dance, but does not really enjoy sweating in makeup :)
[quote name="megssweet1" url="/t/86920/dreams-cancun-2014-brides/9 Hi, I see what you mean, with the swapping of the cocktail hour, that doesn't feel adequate. I am bringing chair sashes, but I think that's about it really.

I'm going to bring programs and prob menus, guest book, table numbers and I think that's it. Part of the appeal of the DW is they cover it all! I'm soooooo glad I'm not researching caterers, florists, cake, etc. We've just been so busy with the house! I'm about to make my invites. Doing passport ones. My friend is super crafty and is helping with the design then I'm gonna do a DIY party in two weeks to assemble.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
