Hey! We have had this problem! its mad that its costs more money with Thomson for a single occupancy than 2 people booking together! We have an even number booked so far - which luckily for us was mainly all couples except two that we have paired together and they said they would rather share than pay that much each! My friend would like to come but is unable to due to this :(.... I can't seem to find the holiday offered with anyone other than Thomson/first choice.

Great that you have your b.maid dresses how exciting!!! It always feels so nice when you get a discount! :) xx

I have also had this problem with single occupancy, I also have a friend that cant come due to this : ( Our best man is having to pay by himself also as his fiance has just had a baby and they dont want to bring the baby and she does not want to leave him, which is fair do's. We have chosen pearl island package also, we wanted plain so we can add our own colours and to keep it fresh looking. Our colours are going to be yellow, white and orange. The cost of everything streses me out ecah time i hear of how much the hotel is charging, ie uplighting for pillars at blue lagoon $600?! Music system to play i pod $500, my other half is all very relaxed about this but i think there taking the pee tbh and it just frustrates me how people can charge so much and how really, we have no choice, if we want it, we have to pay that amount! on the upside, we have finally got the mens suits sorted! managed to find some from m&s. So now we can finally sort out ties, buttonholes, bouquets etc! Hope your all well and not getting too stressed with it, like me! xx

Great news on getting the mens suits sorted! - what colour did you go for? I have finally persuaded my partner to start looking so we are going to try House of fraser, M&S & Debenhams tomorrow, thinking of a sand / beige colour but when I have looked myself they seem so difficult to get hold of in this colour.

Have you managed to get much info out of the wedding coordinator? We have our date / blue lagoon reception confirmed but any more info than this is proving difficult - its hard as we are trying to budget costs but i'm scared they are going to add on all these hidden extras just before we go. $600 for uplighting!!! eeeessshh i'm going to try and take as many decorations and extras over but think i'm going to need about 3 extra suitcases the rate i'm going! xx

My partner originally wanted a stone colour but its was hard finidng 3 piece suits, as he wants to wear just the waistcoats and men just in shirt and jacket, he did think about getting a waistcoat made but when he went to next to get them they werent selling them anymore so now his gone for a really light grey, which looks a tad stoney anyway! Aparentely you dont actually get your WC until 2 months before your wedding date, i have been speaking to Erika who is a manager of some sort and has told me this. Be careful of all the fees etc, for instance if your to take your own centre pieces over and want them to set them up, theres a setting fee, this is only $60 though, if u want wedding chair covers this is $5 per chair, it does all add up, im only realising now as its getting closer, plus the meal per head if your having set menu, £20 add on for each person for cake a ceremony (first 8 people free). If i find out any more hidden costs that i can think of i'll let you know, as im only finding out myself, very frustrating when you have this idea of saving money getting married abroad! still very much looking forward to it though, sure it will be amazing! Hope alls well Nic xx

The grey suits sounds nice! We ended up getting linen waistcoats jackets and trousers from m&s in sand colour- found some of them on the outlet store online which was good, they are still deciding between waistcoats or jackets but I think they are going to go for the waistcoats bcos of the heat. Feels so much better when its all starting to come together! Thanks for the info about the fees :) as we didn't really know about it so its good cos we can start to budget for the chair covers etc... so cheeky! It really is all adding up. I'm also having a panic about my shoes, i want to wear flat sandals but have had comment from the family like flats will look stupid with your dress (dress is fitted strapless lace full length) so i' think you wont be able to see flats anyway and i really want my feet to be comfortable! What are your shoe plans? xx

Hi Becciboo,

I think Truecolors are the photographers the GP use - if you go with them then you don't need to pay the vendor fee that you would normally if you pick an outside photographer (we are considering them for this reason) there details are www.truecolorsphotos.com  :)

When is your wedding day?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
