are there any uk grand palladium lady hamalton brides out there?

Recommended Posts

Wondering if anyone can help. I'm a little concerned, received first email yesterday from a lady called Erika. We were hoping to have a private reception in either the Poseidon or blue lagoon, but Erika has stated there needs to be a minimum of 30 people, I didn't think this was the case? What are the other options then as I would want a private reception? Has anyone else booked the Poseidon or blue lagoon with groups smaller than 30? Thanks guys

oh really? how many people do you have going? we have 22 and she said she has booked up the blue lagoon for us (or at least i'm hoping she has, she confirmed it by email) providing we pay for a minimum of 25 people. It seems really difficult to get much info out of the hotel! xx

I'm sure with 25 people you should have no problems, if you do then I will be worried, let me know if you have any luck with the wedding coordinator! We have booked through Thomson so considering getting them to check over our reception details with the hotel to make sure its all booked before we go ... its easy for the hotel to agree to something over email, but it would be awful to turn up and not have a reception or anything booked.

We have been considering the steel drum band for our ceremony and one of the shows for the reception, but its all adding up! I think we are probably going to take our ipod with our own music and speakers for the reception as the dj looked so expensive. Then going to book true colours for our photos but go with one of the small packages and not have getting ready pics or evening pics just do them ourselves. We have also decided to bring our own flowers and decorations to keeps costs down.

Keeping my fingers crossed for your booking! :)

Thank you I'm still waiting for a response. Not sure whether to do the cocktail party then to eat in one of the a la cartes, or do the private reception. With the private reception do you need to pick off one of the menus they provide or can you chose any type of food the a la carte restaurants have? I would like the steel drum not sure $900 is a lot of money for one hour.

Hi I've been quoted $500 for an hour for steel drum band?! I'm also having our reception at blue lagoon, there are 37 of us but they didnt say anything about numbers of people to have that as an option?! It seems to me that the hotel just make up prices themselves to try and get more money from you, because people have been given different quotes on things from what i've seen on here. I think its really bad how much they charge with certain things and actually wrote a letter of complaint to Thompsons saying about hidden costs which arent shown when booking these weddings, i was told each hotel charges different and its out of their hands, Thompsons just deal with the initial package and then from there your pretty much on your own. It will all work out in the end and be worth it im sure! With blue lagoon and poisedon, i think if you have to pick one of there meuns this ranges from $45-$70 per person.

yes we have, there photos look good plus we thought we'd rather book them as the hotel doesnt charge you having them there, if you were to book your own photographer who you have seen in Jamaica the hotel will charge you $300 for the vendor fee! The package we got was $1950 thats for 4.5 hours throughout the day and all photos on CD (which wont have there logo in the corner), the cheapest one was $1350 but thats for only 3.5 hours and less prints x

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
