Recently Engaged!!! Thinking about Dreams Cancun. LOVE the Location!

Been engaged less than a month and am struggling with the location of a destination wedding.  I know that I want it convenient for my guests as the majority are traveling from Chicago.  So Cancun or possibly Riviera Maya.  I really love Dreams Cancun and have stayed there before (2005), but am a little concerned about the recent reviews (old, run-down).  If anyone has stayed there recently or enjoyed their destination wedding, I would love to hear suggestions.

I'm from Chicago area also. We like Riviera Maya because it is a 3 hour nonstop flight from OHare. I'm looking at Azul Sensatori, Azul Beach and Now Jade because they allow kids. . We are visiting all 3 in May when we go to Secrets Silversands for vacation. Our wedding is in June 2014.

We are also looking at the same resorts. We love the riviera maya area since it's easy non-stop or one stop flight for all our families in Dallas, Kansas City and Boston. Plus so many flight options to this and cancun. I recently stayed at Azul Beach. Not much for nightlife no clubs or anything like that. However the rooms, service and food oh my the food was amazing!!!! They have many other resorts through the area. Some are adults only and some family friendly. They are part of the Karisma resorts

Good thinking, ladies! easy accessibility from your location (and your guests' locations) to your destination is a big consideration...excellent factor in reaching your decision :)

Here's to your planning process going smooth n easy, and all your Dream plans falling into place - just the way you envision.....or Even Better!!! Enjoy :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
