My Upcoming Wedding

Hello Everyone! I was referred to this forum because it has much more activity then the other I was on.

I am wanting to plan my wedding in Cabo, and asked about the top 3 coordinating companies I found.....Baja Weddings, Weddings in Paradise and Sunset Weddings......any comments, etc?

I have read different opinions about each, some good, some great and others not so good....needless to say I am at a loss, and beginning to think I should just do it at home. I don't have a lot of time to get on the forums, as I work 12 hour days, but would appreciate any direct emails on your experiences with any of the above companies.

Thanks!

welcome!!

first off...what resort are you planning to get married at?

if it is a larger resort with its own onsite coordinator like Emeline at the Hilton or Mariana at Dreams, you may not need to hire a WC and it will save you some $$...

if you are having your wedding at a smaller resort w/o WC or on a beach here are some i would consider using:

  • Blanca who is a vendor on this forum got a great review recently (her info here: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/f/...ghlight=blanca )
  • Lovely Wedding (Rosie) is being used by Tasha and was referred by Juan Carlos and they have great prices
  • Maye C also has some really low prices.

it all depends on what you need.

I'm meeting with Wedding in Paradise, Rosy with Lovely weddings, and Maye C who are all Wedding coordinators. Now, I've hired WIP however do to all the problems I'm having with them I'm about 90% sure I'll be canceling my contract with them, yes I'm going to loose some money but doing so but they have put me under SO much stress that it's worth dropping them. Rosy and & are both great so far. And I'll give a full review of all three once I return from my site visit next Friday.

Are you planning on having a large wedding? Are you planning on doing a legal ceremony in Cabo? The reason I ask is because if your having a small wedding, and not getting legally married in cabo then you can totally plan the wedding on your own. But since you said you work long hours, maybe you still need the extra assistance, so I think Maye or Rosy will both do well for you. Let me know if you need contact information for them.

Good luck in your planning.

Welcome Cindy!

I felt very overwhelmed at first too. But, it depends on what type of wedding you want to have. I'm getting married at Dreams, and they have an awesome on-site coordinator, so with the help of this forum, I think I'm going to do it on my own using the hotel WC.

There are other hotels (such as the Hilton, if you don't want an all-inclusive) that have great on-site coordinators.

Good luck!

Hi Cindy. I have tried Weddings in paradise and Baja Weddings and stoped with both. They were horrible no comunication! I am now with Tara at Sunset Weddings and she is good. So far I really like her! After the first two cordinaters I tried to do it on my own. I had some trouble because I work 10 hour days as well and did not have much time to do it. Another hard thing about doing it on your own is that there are alot of very good vendors that are not on the internet or do not speak spanish. I was having so much trouble I almost had it at home as well. But it is important to have the wedding that you want. Don't settle hunny! Everything is going great for me now and I am very happy I stuck with Cabo. Let me know if you have any questions.

Danielle

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
