2014 Cruise Brides

No we have not been on the Breeze but we just got off the Dream (sister ship) and we have friends who took the Breeze in the Mediterranean and loved it - they are also coming to the wedding/cruise

I believe that the photos can happen after the reception and before the wedding as long as your are not worried about the groom seeing you before the wedding (I don't ind at all).  I agree though, the reception is so short we are not missing a second of it

I have not looked into the make-up or hair; we live in Florida (about 4.5 hours from Miami) and we are inviting the gal that does my hair; she said she would do it for me :)

I found very cute favors to purchase on Etsy but not sure how brides have set that up or where.....any ideas

I feel your pain. We have been searching for a cruise line and because I have cruised with carnival before I want to cruise with them. Yesterday I talked to the wedding department and she was like not that pleasent. I guess i just feel a wedding planner should atleast act interested. I had to do all the talking and ask all the questions. She barely answered most of them. I figured maybe I will call back another time of day to get a different person. I really wanted  to do that because Royal is more expensive and no one ever answers. Im stressed and I wanted to do may 2014 but apparently a close friend to FI who was enagaged first is marrying in June. And i feel like a destination wedding is too much to ask for now that his friends probably wont hav emoney for both. Maybe we will just do a very small thing. But he wanted the guy to be his best man. GRRRRRRrrrRRR lol omg I just vented with out even realizing. If you get any luck with Royal please let me know. :D

Hey all, we decided 2 go with Royal, I know it's a lot more money, but after a lot of talking with FI we decided Royal was a better choice for us. I'm totally excited. Haven't spoke with anyone about booking the wedding portion yet since we just met with our TA yesterday n did everything for the cruise portion. We r leaving out of Baltimore, Maryland and will get married on embarkation day. I would love 2 have my guest cruise with us but I understand that it's a lot 2 ask from them so they better be at the ceremony since its only 1 - 1 & 1/2 hours from us. No excuses! The people most important 2 us will be there so we r ok with that. I'm going 2 try and call about the wedding today so wish me luck! ;) Kara

Elarenee89, I'm sorry that you are so stressed.  The person on the phone should be able to answer all of your questions and accept payment.  I think that's it.  Once I passed that point, I have been emailing back and forth very successfully with our wedding coordinator.  She always answers questions quicker than I anticipate. The paperwork that they email you also lays out all of your options.

I agree that they aren't very forthcoming with details, but that could be bc our wedding isn't until April 2014.  I ask specific questions, and I've gotten most of those from other brides on the different cruise forums on the internet.  For example, I read from another bride that you can have a signature drink.  My WC never mentioned that to me, but when I asked her about it, she confirmed that I could and sent me the options.  I told her that I had favors, that I had a caketopper, etc. and she told me that she would set up an extra table for favors and that I should pass the cake decorations to her when I arrive.

I was very overwhelmed and then I remembered that I picked a cruise wedding so that I wouldn't have to plan every little detail.  I wanted to be able to add personal touches but to focus on the important parts.

If I can help, let me know.

Elarenee - So sorry this has been stressful, I have had a few issues with Carnival as well - however we love the cruise line and it would not be our wedding if we didn't cruise on Carnival :)

After you book, they are a bit more informative but if you call the 800 number back and get someone else, you'll probably be happier.

Good luck with whatever you decide

Hello everyone! I'm hoping to be a 2014 bride as well! I wanted to do a destination wedding but there may be passport issues with some guests so my sis came up with this idea! I'm so lost already 😳 how does it work? Do you get married at sea? The day of boarding? I'm clueless! Thanks you all in advance!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
