Do you have a group rate for the hotel? If so then there's usually a date by when your group needs to be all paid up. I made my RSVP deadline a month before that. Hope that helps!

I did this same thing. My resort doesn't need a count until about 45 days before the wedding but I'm setting my RSVP date for 3 months prior to my wedding date so I can get things done myself. We might have some last minute people book but at least I'll have somewhat of a number so I can start buying things.

Yeah, I'm just going to order maybe 5 extra of each thing, in case there are some last minute people who book. That way, at least I can get it out of the way since shipping can take awhile. You never know what could happen last minute with shipping and you don't get your stuff before the wedding. Oh gosh.. thinking about it is scary enough already.

  • 4 weeks later...

I only just had to give my headcount at the start of the month (so that would make it approx a month ahead of time) to the resort.

However for US and budgeting/DIYing, etc. we asked for three months notice as to whether or not our guests would be joining us.   (The other thing is that if you do have a group with a TA, you kind of know way in advance who has paid up and who hasnt). If people were trying to do their own thing, we gave them the 3 month.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
