Thanks for the information Jolene!  I was really hoping it would cost approx. $1300 but what can ya do!?

Thanks for letting us know about the additional prices.  They seem very reasonable.  I remember when I was looking at resorts in Jamaica, additional bouquets were $50 each!!!! crazyness.  Have you decided if you are going with the resort photographer or are you looking at photographers in Havana as well?  Also, did you decide on the ceremony location? if so, which location did you choose? I noticed there are three options (beach gazabo, garden gazabo and pool gazabo). I like the idea of having the cememony near the ocean although it didn't look like there was a place for guest to sit... correct me if I am wrong.

I found centre pieces that I fell inlove with.. they are white lanterns and have a vintage feel to them... they suit my theme and I got them for a good price.  I need to bother people to add a couple to their suitcases as I purchased 12 LOL.  Once you find out prices on decorations, please let us know what our options are and prices :)

I'm trying to take the easy way out and not send save the date cards. Once I confirmed the week and ceremony date I am going to send out the invitations.  Let me know what you decide to do:)

I thought that the prices were pretty reasonable as well, so far I am super impressed with having made this choice on resorts!

I am also skipping Save the Dates I couldnt wrap my head around doing them sending them out and then sending out invitations so I am just going to pay my deposit and go straight for invitations as well.

I havent picked a ceremony location yet because I dont know how many people I am going to have, I think that I would like the gazebo because I too want to do it on the beach but I dont like the idea of having people in the background. But if I have to many people I wont be able to do the gazebo.

As for the photographer I am not sure yet, I never thought to look into Havana thats a great idea, my uncle is a photographer but I dont know if he will be able to come, I may use my "free" 21 to bring him, but I mean 4 cuc a picture that isnt such a bad rate.

I am not sure about decorations yet I really like those paper laterns, I love how they look at hanging in the gazebo.

If I hear anything else I will let eveyone know...

on a side note this Iberostar 2013 is really helping us get to 150 posts, yay templates!!!

We got quoted: $1008 plus $130 tax for double occ $748 plus $130 tax for kids I ended up doing my own boarding pass save the dates. Took a couple days but overall wasn't too difficult Have you chosen your reception place? She recommended us to have the gala room from 6:30-10:30pm for 25 Cuc a head. Do you have an email from Beliks that has all of the extras prices that you could maybe send me?

Hi Ladies!

I also love the look of the paper lanterns.  I think it is a super cute idea :)  I spoke with my travel agent today (who got married at this resort last Aug) and she said if you send Balkis a picture of the way you want something set up she will let you know if they can replicate the idea.  My agent had the wedding arch and chairs set up right near the ocean... It looked cute and I didn't see any speedos in her pics lol.

Right now I am waiting for Balkis to comfirm that April 9, 2013 is still available (fingers crossed).  After I hear back from her I am going to put my deposit on the flight... I'm getting really excited! :)

I'm very interested to know which ceremony locations are available to us and at what cost.  I like the gala room (which I believe is indoors) if it rains cuz I really want to spend our day outdoors as much as possible.  I'm hoping I can reserve the pool lounge area or something like that....

Did you ladies decide if you are doing a legal or symbolic ceremony?

Shauntel, awesome those are pretty good prices!!!!

Kail - YAY I will keep my fingers crossed

I am curious about the charge of 25 cuc pp I didnt see anything about that... all I saw was that if you had more than 25 people you would only have one choice of dinner... which I figure I can deal with when I figure out how many people I am going to have!!!

She only sent me the prices listed in an email! there was no attachment, I wanted a list of all the extra things that I could add and the prices... she keeps saying that the current price list is only valid until Oct 2013.

Now I am a little worried about that 25 pp I am not sure how many people we will have but that sounds like it could add up fast!!!

Shauntel,

BEST FIND EVER!!!!! so I spent a shameful amount of time on the Facebook group yesterday reading and looking at pictures and I am totally at ease now with knowing that not one person on there seemed to have any complaints... and for the most part everything looked awesome! I am going to email Beliks today and inquire about the Pool / Beach party that you can reserve for dancing after dinner I think that would be money well spent, we went to a destination wedding in Cuba a few years ago and it was odd after dinner everyone faded out and went their separte ways because there wasnt anything planned for after dinner I think this would solve it no problem! again best find, thanks for letting us know!

Hahhaha I know! I'm so happy I found it! We are choosing the private gala dinner so that takes care of the "what happens after dinner" problem. Since we have it until 10:30pm (later if we tip) we are able to do all the speeches, dancing and etc. 25 CUC a head covers: DJ 3 course meal Cake Open bar (not including wine for dinner tho) A/C Plus your privacy! That was my fiancé's number one thing - he wanted a completely private reception.

I am going to have to straighten some things out... Did Beliks email you and ask you all this stuff? I never even heard about it until you guys mentioned the 25 CUC a person... I guess though I don't have numbers so I dont want to comit to something like that until I know for sure how many people we are going to have, but I looked at all the paper work that she sent me and there was nothing mentioned about that either... did you ask her about it or did she ask you??? gee just when I think that I am getting somewhere something else pops up!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
