Are any of you doing receptions back at home following your wedding?  That is our plan but I am unsure how to do the save the dates and invites with having 2 seperate events?  Any suggestions??

Thanks :)

I honestly never thought about this into details... But Save the Dates went out in June, I believe.. (All of this is listed on my signature) But on my Save the Dates was our wedding website address. Also mentioned on our site was a note about an at home reception.. details, venue, etc.. TBD. Our invites went out early September with an RSVP postcard. On the post card they had options YES or NO to destination wedding and I also added an addition bubble to check or fill in if they are interested in attending the AHR. I'm not sure when I'll send them out.... but I will send invitations to our At Home Reception with RSVP's before we leave for Punta Cana.. Maybe around the time I have requested the RSVP's for the DW.. End of February. AHR will take place probably the middle to end of July. (We wont have our wedding pics back until early July.)

Hi ladies,

I was actually thinking about sending out less formal invitations for the reception back home about 1.5 months before the event. I want to keep my Save-the-Dates for the wedding separate from the AHR. I'm having enough problems trying to figure out the correct wording for the formal invitations since its for a destination wedding.

Thanks!

We sent our our Save the Date via email because we received a group rate from our travel agent and it was time sensitive, we sent them out about 9 months before and our Invites were out about month-ish later. We wanted to give everyone as much time as possible to save money because it is pricey from Canada.

did you guys know any company or website for SAVE THE DATE Magnets? also cheaper :)

We ordered our magnets from Vistaprint. We used our own design--which was inspired by a number of designs we had seen on other sites. We paid about $75 for 100 magnets and we got really cute light brown envelopes from Vistaprint too for about $35.

We ordered samples from other websites which were really nice too. This file is a bit small but the magnet print was just like a photo. The color was vibrant and the image was sharp. FYI--the magnets cannot be wiped with a damp cloth--the ink will rub off.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
