Hello Brides to Be.

We are holding  our DW @ the Grand Caribe in Cancun.  My friends and I go on vacation together every year so they decided that they would take their vacations on my wedding day.  I choose the Free Wedding Package at this resort.  So far we have about 20 confirmed rooms, we are expecting about 50 total.  We will arrive in Cancun on Wed July 9Th and have or ceremony on Sat 12Th, leaving the following Wed.  We set up everything Thur our Travel Agent who books our vacations so it was an easy pick.  All of our guest have the pricing for the room selections so they are able to choose the type of rooms they like.  We also choose The Grand Master Level which gives you access to the sister resort which is The Royal.  We set it up early so people could take advantage of a monthly plan or to pay in full.

The only pricing we don't have is the airline.  It wont be available until August.  I also have my On Site WC and have picked my menu.  They provided an "dummy invoice" so you can plug in your selections on items that you choose, so that you will know exactly what your costs are.

I am using Silk Flowers which are being designed by my local florist.

I will bring my own napkins which will match my wedding colors of Plum & Ivory (also a take away for guest.  It will have our names & date of the wedding on them)

still looking for items for the gift bags.

Almost finished.

With almost exactly a year to go it sure sounds like you have a lot accomplished!!

Plum and Ivory are a great combo!  Are you doing embroidered cloth napkins or printed paper?  I hadn't thought about doing special napkins... (I need to get off this site.. too many great ideas!)

Are you doing welcome gift bags or are you looking for favors?

Congratulations Joyous!  You and your friends do vacation in style!  I really like the colors that you've chosen.

Those look like nice bags.... I am (of course) having a bad dilemma!  I purchased ones @ Christmas Tree Shop.. really nice huge canvas bags with a zipper for about 4 bucks a piece.  I just recently was looking at items for sale from other brides on here and someone was selling bags that looked almost identical to the once I already had.  She was asking $ 1 each and with shipping they were about 2 bucks a bag.  I thought for sure I would just return the ones to CTS but the bags are a little different and I don't know which ones I like better.

The second set I got are the same length but not as tall and do not have a zipper, which I like about them.   I kinda of like that the second ones are smaller because that might more of a size that people would use again.  I don't think I will have a hard time getting all my stuff into either of them.  So I'm stuck (sorry for the rant) haha

Good tip about the transfers!   I already bought the stuff to do a stencil BUT I'm scared to do anything to them (and of course I need to pick a bag first *sigh*)

AND

I love your hangover helper and Mamajuana!  Super cute.  I wanted to add alka seltzer day after remedy... but they don't seem to make it anymore.  I did find this stuff on amazon called Drinkin Mate. It has mixed reviews but I think I will end up getting it because it's cute.  I didn't think to add alcohol with it, but I love the idea!

Rayn, honestly I would get the cheaper ones. Most people might use it throughout the resort but maybe not reuse them again and of course...they are cheaper!! Leaves you to spend money somewhere else. And if they are smaller....you won't go overboard buying stuff to fill it!!! Just my opinion LOL

I think your probably right!  The smaller ones are nice!  I think they are more of a size that someone would use again.. as a grocery bag or something... I don't plan on putting our names or wedding date on them so I hope people will use them.      There might be an issue with going overboard : (   tooooo late! HAHA

I agree!!! I am so glad the hotel we chose includes these in the room. I just need to get a note, and maybe 1 or 2 more things to include to make it a little more personalized. I would not know where to start with these!! you ladies are doing a great job!!

The  extra things I am going to get are personalized coozies and mugs!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
