Hi there! I am just sending out a Save The Date email for now that just says "In July 2013, Sarah & Mike are getting married in Jamaica - exact dates and invitation to follow".  Then when we have the resort and week picked, we will send out the actual invites b/c people will want to start putting their deposits down (hopefully!)...  I would also be interested to hear other peoples ideas too tho! thanks, Sarah

We're sending out Save the Dates approximately 1 year in advance.  We want to make sure people have enough time to save up for the trip.  We decided to go with magnets that would be easy for people to put on their refrigerators as a reminder.  They say Save the Date: Robert and Danielle are getting married. May 4, 2013.  Formal invitation to follow.  I also included our wedding website where we have information on the resort and group booking opportunities.  Hope this helps!

I'm planning a wedding at the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites for May 9th. We've just decided on the destination and the property so we haven't sent out save the dates yet. How has your response been to the ones you've sent out?

Thanks Jamie!! A postcard is an awesome idea. I was toying with the idea of a traditional save the date versus a magnet and I think a postcard is a great compromise! How far in advance did you send out your invitations?

We sent ours out 1 year in advance.  I think our guests appreciated having the time to save up!

We're doing magnets, followed by an early rsvp, then the actual invite. We still haven't pinned down the resort yet but we have decided on a date.
