We also ate at Palazzo a lot - one of our favorites.

We tried every restaurant except Vento because my husband doesn't like Mediterranean food but my in-laws ate there and they enjoyed the food. We didn't get to try Mole because they were never open the entire time we were there. Apparently they close some of the restaurants some days, I never cared enough to figure out since the butler took care of the reservations.

You can't go wrong wherever you stay because the resort is absolutely beautiful.

Thanks Rotha,

I will definately try to get some reservations at Aqua and the other restaurant at the reserve during our stay. Yes Palazzo is one of our favorites as well....Especially for Breakfast!!!!!!!!!!

Its nice to change pace when on our honey moon i hope we can get a room at the reserve for our honeymoon or an ocean view...God i hope so!

... I am counting down and i am 8 months away. Still have not gone shopping for my wedding dress, bridesmaid dresses or even done my invites...  Not sure this is common...Should i have all my things already. I am hoping to start the gym and weight watchers and then shop for my dress but i have not had much luck starting...

How long does it take to get your wedding dress?

Anyway..Thanks for the info Rotha..

To all of the other ladies with weddings coming................Congrats (Kelly i think that's you!!!!   pinkie.gif   thewave.gif

Good morning from DR lovely ladies!

I have taken a ton of pics for ladies in their planning stages, since I was never able to do a site visit. I have pics of the Chill out Chic beach set up, the offsite church were we got married, our beach reception setup, our cocktial hour at plaza colonial, Olympus Terrace, Apollo Theater, Apollo Terrace etc. My husband was like "why are you taking pics" and I said "for my girls on the website to see" lmao that made me giggle. I don't even know any of you but I feel like it is my duty to help where I can hahahaha I also have great pics of the beach, the fountain, the reserve rooms etc etc. I have been documenting my stay!

I wasn't able to do a planning thread because I lost my phone at my bachelorette party and allllll the pics I took while planning my wedding. But I am able to write a review thread with pics, so I've been shooting everything. And we have so many pics from other peoples cameras I don't know how I will ever choose my favorite shots.

@Rotha- no those were the restaurants I was referring to. I didn't realize they were included in Royal Service as well.

The hotel gave us a discount for the storm- since we all got stuck they gave us the rooms at $150 per night per person for the extra night we are stuck here. It's too bad the rate isn't always that low and youre right, there are worse places to be stuck. I just really miss my dog. And its expensive to keep her boarded for extra days too. This wasn't an expense we banked for so its going to hurt our pockets. Especially since I really needed to get back to my second job as a bartender to recuperate some funds. I was supposed to work tomorrow but now we won't be home until Friday : (

Btw- no sign of a storm. LOL Stupid American Airlines jumped the gun bc all other carriers are leaving and coming in...except good old American.

Sorry that you are stuck there but actually enjoy every second of it....Yay!

150 sounds good to me...my guests are paying 232 to stay in a deluxe garden view...ugh its killing me because i feel bad for them...

But anyway our flights have been locked in at 535 from delta. Waiting for the jetblue flights to be released....

Hi Ladies,

I've been following the forum for about 6 months and finally took the time to join.  You all have been a great source of info and now I will share some of mine: Getting married at PPR in September (I did the Love at First Site visit Nov 2012- I wanted to feel confident about the resort before we officially committed it and sent out STDs).  Ultimately I decided to go with the Aqua Package. My wedding will be in the Garden Gazebo and Reception in the Apollo Ballroom (not thrilled about the privatization fee- but what can you do?).  I'm also having a Welcome Cocktail party in the Plaza Colonial on the day before my wedding. Right now I'm in the process of finalizing my guest count (~50-55) and preparing to pay my final invoice. :-(

All in all I'm excited about the wedding and hopeful that everything will go relatively smoothly.

Hi,

Just an fyi, actually all PPR guests have access to Aqua and Mizu at The Reserve (I had dinner at both in the same night during my Love at First Site visit).  One the nice staff members out front with the bell men of the main resort will just whisk you over in a golf cart. Reservations are definitely recommended.  I didn't have any, so I had to pull the "I'm trying to decide whether I'm having my wedding here" card and they seated us immediately. :-) Dinner at each was rather impressive.

Thank you so much for the well wishes! We are getting super excited! Just a heads up.... Jet blue has no closet on board for a wedding gown! Another bride on here advised me so I just figured I would pass the info along! Kelly
Hey Kelly do you know of any other airlines that do have a closet? not sure if we should upgrade our seats to get more space for our carry on bags and the dress.. Thanks for the infor.

Hey I'm on my iPhone so I can't reply directly for some reason. Anyway, we are in NJ and using united because its direct from newark ...they have a closet. We did upgrade our seats bc we can check two bags each up to 70lbs and we are bringing a few things lol. Not sure about other airlines most I think doubt jet blue apparently doesn't!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
