Hi Everyone!  elefant.gif

I am recently engaged and I have been reading through this site for the past week. And I must say this has been very helpful. I'm just starting my planning and already I feel over whelmed at times. Am I the only one that is up all night long?

We decided on Paradisus Punta Cana for our location. I'm really excited about that. There seems like so much that needs to be done but not enough time. Since the wedding is less than 8 months away I think I'm behind in the planning phase.

Can anyone give me good advice for my wedding website. I need to set that up asap. What is a good site/template to use for destinations? I want to have a very detailed section for the guests that are traveling. I know I need to hurry up on it so I can send out my save the dates.

Congrats and welcome!  And don't worry, 8 months is plenty of time!  I did a wedding website, but I'm really not sure how much it mattered.  The younger guests posted there sometimes or checked there, but I'm not sure it was worth the hassle.  I just used one of the free versions.

Congratulations! I am also planning my wedding in about 8 months, and picking a location/resort was the most stressful. We put down a deposit about 6 months from our date. You can do it!

I used weddingwindow.com for my website (it's not free). I like it because you can manipulate the content a lot. My goal is to make it have all the information you might find in a travel book so guest can access it from the hotel if they need ideas of what to do. We sent out the website on our safe-the-dates and I've been adding information since. At the time we sent out our save-the-dates we didn't have our hotel rooms quite figured out yet, so we have our travel agent's info on our website rather than doing a separate mailing.

Good luck!

Congrats!

I too am planning an October wedding (and we don't have our place yet) so you are one step ahead!!

Same as Katie2012, we used wedding window for our website.  It's not free, but there are so many options on how you can customize it to what you need that I really liked the flexibility.  I figure, it's like a save the date (though we'll do those too) so it can go under "invitations" in the budget!

And even though we don't have a location just yet, it was helpful to send the website just letting people know that we're getting married in October and we'll keep them posted about the details.  We also did a "poll" to gauge how many people were interested in coming, and that's been helpful.  You can also see how many people have been visiting your site, so you know if people are checking.

happy planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
