Thanks!!

I haven't been there yet but I am pretty sure the bamboo room has round tables which seat 6-8 people. I may be wrong but I believe I read that somewhere.

Pilar sent me a wedding planning form which has all our options including cocktail hors dâ€ouvres, appitizers & dinner entrees. She stated that the form should be returned 45 days before the wedding.

As Shannonmarie said 45 days prior to the wedding is when those details are due to Pilar regarding food choices.  I do know that Pilar said during the webinair in March that for an additional fee your guests can decide on the spot which entree they would like...I don't know exactly how much extra that is though since I plan on organizing food choices ahead of time!

Do you know how it works for drinks at cocktail hour and the reception? Is it still unlimitted?

I do believe it is unlimited drinks. For the reception I believe they get your drinks from the nearest bar. You can rent your own private bar set-up inside your reception for $250 I think. I am debating whether or not I want to do this. I kinda like the idea of having it right there but not exactly sure if it's worth the extra money.

I honestly wouldn't spend the extra money. We were supposed to have our reception on the terrace but due to possible rain we were switched to Castaways Restaurant. I never noticed any issue with getting drinks. Honestly they are really good at keeping the drinks and shots coming. I would either save or spend the $250 on something else. Just my opinion though! There is no limit on drinks during the cocktail hour or reception! Darius is the bartender at the beach bar and he is absolutely fantastic!!

I had 45 people in the bamboo room. I sat the whole bridal party at a long table facing all of the guests (10 people).

You can sit up to 10 people at a round table.  I had 1 long table for bridal party and 4 round tables. It was perfect and had a nice space for dancing in the middle.

Oh great! Thank you for the advice! Our reception is also at Castaways. I will take your word for it & save the money! So do you just keep ordering drinks from the waiter/waitresses?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
