NOW SAPPHIRE RIVIERA MAYA WEDDINGS IN 2012

Were getting married on June 8th 2012 at the Now Sapphire and were in need of a little help.....The location is currently set at the Beach Terrace (we wanted to Tequilla Terrace but, that was reserved already for something). Were going with the Devine package but, now it doesn't include a DJ .....Were concerned that there won't be a personal/private party or dancing etc....with just our friends and family.....is it important or worth it to get a DJ for $350.00 per hour for a private party or is this a resort where we could just go to a club/bar on site to party etc...? We don't want it to just end abrutly after dinner and feel we should have something additional after we eat etc... can anyone make suggestions or recommendations on this? Thanks for any and all help you may be able to give us!!!!

We are getting married at the Now Sapphire on June 16, 2012 so close to your wedding! My fiance and I have talked about just renting the sound equipment that the resort offers to play our on music instead of hiring a DJ. I plan to still have my father-daughter dance and first dance with my husband as well as music for guests if they want to dance and hang out together after dinner. Hope this is helpful. I have seen that sound equipment is available to rent but I am not sure what the price is yet. (haven't had a lot of chances to speak with the wedding coordinator).

Congrats on setting your wedding date.  I've been contemplating NOW Sapphire for quite some time and have found a ton of helpful information on the Sapphire thread.  You may want to post your question here in case more people will see it.  There is definitely a night club at the resort and I've read that a lot of people will take there after party there.  Also, a lot of people have mentioned that you can bring your ipod down and hook it up to their sound system in lieu of the DJ.  Good luck and happy planning!

Plan answer about the speaker rental, it is $150 an hour (except the ceremony, where it is included).

 

And Mike, thanks for the link to the videos. I had to found many, and it gives a different perspective than the photos.

I am also looking at booking here. The resort looks beautiful but i am worried on all the extra costs. It is important to me to have a private reception where everyone can dance. $350 an hour seems pricey no? Is there any brides out there that have been here and can suggest if it is worth the extra for a DJ? also i am worried about decor what should i plan to bring?

Hey ladies .. I'm getting hitched on October 13 2012 6 months away it's creeping up so fast I hired dj doremixx heard so many good things about this dj he charges 800 for up to 5 hrs same price I believe if you want 2 or 3 hours. But the resort charges 300 vendor fee which stinks but some things you can't control o well Some things I'm bringing is Unity sand picture holder Place cards Table numbers Diamond confetti Petal cones Favors OT bags for my guests Happy planning

I was thinking of the Gazebo but havent seen too many pictures of it. I was also thinking of having the reception at the Tequilla Terrece. 

Which package are you going with? I am debating on the devine and the eternity.

I booked the tequilla terrace and ceremony in fronton the beach . I went with the divine .. made sense since i needed a few more flowers , better menu , private transfers, videographer , canopy decor, and romantic dinner for the next night If you don't need some of these things better off going to eternity and adding what you want. How many people are you having ?

I believe that we will be having 30 but im not sure. we just sent out our save the dates. Our wedding is April 8. im struggling with the choices. i have decided on the tequila terrace and the beach for the wedding. We did go with the devine package now its the dj, table decorations etc
