2013 Gran Caribe Real/ Royal Cancun Brides

Recommended Posts

Emily, I would go 4 the spa at the resort. You dont want 2 be caught and have to pay extra when you can save that money for something like honeymoon! I'm a super scrappy bride lol and from what i've heard the resort spa does a great job on hair and makeup!! Just bring lots of pics of what you want hair and makeup to look like and pray for the best. honestly dont think they could possibly mess up!! Goodluck and dont worry you'll be a beautiful bride!! :)

Hi Ladies! My fiance and I just booked The Royal/Gran Caribe for July 27th, 2013! I am obviously more than excited, but slightly overwhelmed..don't even know where to start! Anyway, any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated! We are definitely getting married in the chapel and have booked the Albatros Terrace for the reception! We were assigned the wedding coordinator Elsa. If anyone has worked with her and could give me some feedback that would also be great! Looking forward to planning and discussing :)

Hi, this is my first post to the forum although I have been visiting the site regularly, I have been finding all the posts very helpful.

We are planning to have our wedding at the Royal Cancun in 2013, We will be staying in a presidential suite so we will use the free wedding packages and add on some extras. Has anyone used or is anyone planning to use the free package? Do you have any advice/ tips regarding it?

My thoughts are to have the ceremony in a gazebo (not sure which one yet, Royal or Gran Caribe?) at 4pm, it will be a small symbolic service with only 4-6 guests, followed by the Champaign toast and cake before using a photographer for photos in resort and on the beach.

Thanks and congrats to all!!

Congrats to both of you and welcome. My fiancé and I did a site visit that we split between both resorts, so if you are looking for pictures of anything in particular let me know. I obviously don't have pictures of everything since we mainly concentrated on where we are doing our ceremony and reception (chapel and villas terrace) but we have some general pictures as well. ;)

Hi ladies! Can't wait for the time to fly by for us Feb 2013 whahooo. I cant decide to have the reception/cocktail hour outside or in the ballroom any suggestions?  Because I know the heat sticks around pretty good.  My wedding planner Claudy Che has been horrible so far I had to complain to the head of weddings then she replied. But now shes back at the no replies I am not a picky bride but as time gets closer they will hear it from me LOL.

I'm debating whether to have my reception indoors in one of the ballrooms or outdoors on Albatros Terrace, as well. Besides the heat being a factor, we are getting married in July and there is a 9 pm restriction for outdoor events (for turtle nesting season). I would want my reception to go beyond 9 and my WC, Elsa, said the only way to extend the reception was to do it indoors. Is anyone else running into this dilemma? Has anyone seen the ballrooms in person? I haven't yet, but we're doing a site visit in Oct. or Nov.

Emily- if you have pics of the ballrooms let me know! I would actually love to see any pics you have!

Hola Alicia415,

We've done many weddings at the Gran Caribe Real and Royal Cancun and our most recent ones said yes to the Ballrooms!! Here are some pictures to help you visualize your day:

The advantage of the Ballrooms is that you don't have to worry about rain, you have tons of privacy to dance the night away and truly be yourself while we play with the light for some super creative shots :)

Hope these images and tips help you and wish you all the best!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
