Originally we wanted all of our guests at THE Royal however it looks like we will be opening up the option for guests to stay at wither THE Royal or the Gran Caribe - due to pricing and children.

I am just stressed and feel bad that those who will be staying at the Gran Caribe will not be able to participate in any daytime/night time activities that will be at THE Royal. (BRIDE AND GROOM ARE STAYING AT THE ROYAL).

Any advice would be so helpful as I am very stressed about opening it up to both resorts ....

Thank You So Much

We had guests staying at both resorts, we stayed at the Royal. We found it was easy to spend time with both groups. The GCR group obviously couldnt come hang out with us at the royal so we just made sure to have some plans with them at the beach during the day or at the lobby bar after dinner on some of the days. We had a group of 8 staying at the GCR and they all hung out together so we didnt feel bad when we wanted to relax and stay at the Royal because we knew they were all together.

Hey joannaleigh!  Congrats again on your wedding!  I am a little new to this site and so far it's been GREAT reading all the post.  Very helpful on what to expect come this Nov when it's my turn (note to self: PRINT OUT AND BRING ALL EMAILS!!!)

Anyways, I cannot seem to find your review.  Having some trouble navigating through the site to find it.  I clicked under 'Vendor Review' but couldn't find it.  Can you please tell me how to get to it please?  And congrats again!

Hi Jenny MicG.  Congrats on getting married!  I am on the same boat as you were when it comes to wanting to make my wedding really easy.  I too am thinking about just getting everything that the hotel offers.  I'll definitely get the DJ, as I am reading a lot of brides booked the resort DJ and he was awesome.  I am not to picky about flowers.  My one concern is photography.  I was going to book through the hotel.  But I'm reading that tons of girls didn't like the packages offered or the kind of pictures they took, etc.  Therefore, went and hired someone outside.

I would like to not pay the $350 vendor fee.  But do want good pictures.  How was your experience with the resort photographer?  How did you like the pictures?  We the price reasonable for what you got?  I'd love to see your photots if you don't mind sharing.  You can email me at [email protected].  I'd really appreciate it!

Where did you hold your reception?  Oh and I'm having my wedding this Nov.  How was the weather for you this past Nov?  Any rain? Wind? Cold?

Like I mentioned above, I am a bit new and believe it or not, I've read EVERY SINGLE POST....ALL 72 PAGES!!!! Hope that doesn't put me in the bridezilla category, lol. Iâ€ve read a lot about people getting outside vendors for things such as flowers and photography.  I know lots of brides mentioned that they didnâ€t like the photographer and packages that the resort had to offer.

Is there anyone who did go with the hotel photographer?  If so, how was your experience and more importantly, how did your pictures come out???  Thxoxox

Jonnaleigh, did you have to do the arras, lasso, bible/rosary & unity candle traditions? Since we are already having a full mass we are unconvinced on these. I saw an old review where the girl said they were basically required to do these.

Thanks for posting a great review! I can't wait to see your pro pics!

We chose to do the lasso, bible and unity candle. However the priest asked us what we were doing and he said none of them are required, they are all just traditions. We had a full mass as well and it didnt add too much time to the whole ceremony- maybe an extra 5 minutes. But they are definitely not required.

I tried to copy and paste the link:  http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/products/gran-caribe-real-resort-spa-all-inclusive/reviews/7126

Otherwise it is listed at the bottom of the page in the brown box under "recent reviews" for now.

The question above mine made me think of something to point out to everyone. There is at least one other resort with Royal in the name in Cancun. We have a travel agent working with us so 90% of our guests booked through her and there was no problem. However, my Uncle tried to book through his timeshare and they booked them at the wrong resort. The only way he figured it out was he asked a question about the all inclusive and that "Royal In Cancun" did not offer it or something. Thank goodness! It was very stressful when I realized I would feel obligated to purchase all four of them day passes for every dang day so they would be a part of everything... Anyway, it all worked out but I wanted to make sure you guys know so you can stress to any guests who might be booking through a third party...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
