2013 Gran Caribe Real/ Royal Cancun Brides

@txbrideinmexico........ The resorts photographer and videographer was at my ceremony even though I had my own photographers and videographers. They met up with us the day after the wedding and had us select 24 pics (it was included in our package) and showed us the video. I'll tell you this, I don't think the video was breath taking but they did a good job and even put music to it. They told us the video was $250 and I was able to talk him down to $150!!!! We still didn't buy it because we had already spent $1, 000 on our videographer and I could see my videoagraphers next to them in the video and it made me think they both had the same footage. Let me know if you have any questions.
p.s. Just out of curiosity there isn't a link or anything that you still have access to to see your video is there? Incase you wanted to see it after the fact? I find it weird I haven't been able to find a single video example anywhere and would love to see one! If not, no biggie...it just seems strange to me especially since they work with such a large chain of resorts! Lol!

I asked my WC for a video sample and she said there wasn't one to provide. Of course that wasn't my onsite WC, so maybe that would make a difference... They don't always seem to be on the same page!

What kind of room is everyone in? We are at the GCR in a Gran Jr Suite Ocean View. That's with our upgrade... sort of thinking the one below that might actually be a better room - Jr Suite Ocean Front. Ocean front sounds better than view. The difference seems to be the VIP floor and lounge. Can anyone who has visited comment on whether that is worth the upgrade? We did not do a site visit (we must be brave!).

So they just kind of showed up and filmed your ceremony? Interesting. I wish I knew if they would do that for us. I don't think my package includes any photography, so I doubt they will do that for us but it's good to know. thanks!

Hi Ladies,

Only a month away until my big day & i just paid my final deposit! I had to go back and forth due to some over charges!

Please be very carefully before you submit your final payment and make sure everything

is listed correctly. I was almost over charged $300!!! Thank goodness for my OCDness!

As far as the video, i ordered the moonlight package, just because I wanted the whole thing recorded and didn't want to pay another outside vendor fee. I get married June 1st.. i'll keep you posted on how it turns out. I was told you can choose the music you want to include in your video.

I'm currently at war with them about the overcharges and constant changes! It's been 8 months of hell dealing with them and I can't wait for it all to be over! So yes, everyone make sure you track every conversation and cost because they're very very tricky!! Let me know about the videographer...I'm June 15th so hopefully you'll let us know in time for me to make a last minute decision! Lol

Thanks for your friend's info.  I will definitely look into his website.  My wedding is in about 6 months.  I'm soooo in "Operation: FIND A PHOTOGRAPHER" right now, lol.  I just keep hearing so-so reviews about the resort's photographer.  And they're not much cheaper than outside people...even after paying the vendor fee.

Yup......still no word from Funever Photos.  But I have contacted others and BOOM!!! Replies from all.  I'm in the "comparing & reviewing reviews about them" stage right now.  Still not $100 ruling out the resort photographer just yet....but pretty close.

If there's that one bride out there that comes to us saying her pix were the BOMB after choosing the resorts photographer, than I may stick with them.  But com'n....at least respond to my email, right!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
