2012 Riu Sante Fe Brides

Recommended Posts

Melissa,

Thank you for the information.  I'm glad your wedding ended up working out.  I am nervous about the RIU as well...I have contacted the Melia however I'm not sure it is located on the strip where we can see  Land's End or if it is further up near Dreams.

How do I send a private message as I would love to see your pics.  If you don't mind me asking how much did your wedding and reception cost at Sunset Da Mona Lisa?  How did you and your guests get there and back?  And where is it located? My fiancee is very frugal and I am doing my best to keep costs down...

Thank you so much for your help.

Kerri :)

You either have to pay $30 for a membership, which helps keep this site running or have 150 posts. Think of it as paying it forward for the next brides who come to the site looking for answers. :)

Hi all! So I was wondering if anyone has ran into this problem.  So we are getting married at 2pm.  We want a small reception at 3pm which some snacks and drinks.   Just something small because we are going on a sunset cruise afterwards.  Well, since none of the restaurants are open yet we would have to have the reception at the El Patio Ingles.  Fom the pictures it looks like the main court yard next to the buffet restaurant.  We have to pay for a private reception for this.  Has anyone had their reception there? If so was it worth the price? It will only be fore a short time.  If anyone has any advice on this or anything else you would recommend please let me know.  Thank you!

Hi Sandy,

I got married at the Santa fe in February on the beach, and between time there is the bars at the beach open till 6 and there is snacks usually at the steakhouse restaurant by the beach till about 4.  Our guests sat at the bar and pulled tables together in between the ceromony and reception, the best part is its Free!  you kind of just do it and no one questions it!  good luck and congrats

How was your overall experience with your wedding at the Santa Fe and the coordinator? I am getting married on 10/18/13 at 2pm and am starting to get nervous about everything coming together. Do you have any specific tips/tricks to making things run smooth? Do they decorate at all for the reception in the steakhouse or do we need to bring all decor? Thank you for any information you might be able to provide.

Yes, we just had our reception there.  It was perfect and I think it was worth the money!  It is in the back of Baja California restaurant so it is off of the beaten path which was perfect.  There were also bathrooms close.

Did they provide any decorations for the tables at the reception or did you need to bring everything? What did you use for table decorations? Is the dinner served plated or buffet style? Also, what were your dinner choices? Sorry for all the questions, I am trying to get things planned and cannot contact the coordinator yet.

Thank you.

They give you rose petals that you get free in your package.  We brought most decorations with us.  We used our bridesmaids bouquets at the table for the centerpieces which was nice.  Also they bring the flowers off of the arch that you use for when you have your ceremony.  We payed per plate.  Buffet style is only an option over 50 people.  We had 50 people even so we did the per plate.  The food was actually really good too.  We did chicken cordon bleu and beef filet au gratin with mushrooms.  I really liked Patio Ingles, it is a great area for the reception.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
