Hello Everyone!

I am so excited I found this thread.  I am recently engaged and we have always talked about a destination wedding.  I have searched and searched and I think this is the one I want! I am expecting around 40 people and want to get the best deals I can.  I met with a travel agent and she is checking availability for April 12th, 2013. A ways away but I wanted time to plan.  Can anyone tell me where to begin!!!!

Hello,

Congratulations on your engagement! Now is a good time to start thinking about an April 2013 wedding. Your travel agent should be able to get some pricing but not all of the suppliers will have all of their best pricing out until about 12 months prior. It is good to think of what type of resort will best fit your group. Something that has a lot of dining options as well as activities and entertainment, or something more boutique style for an intimate feel. Also if you have some specific ideas in mind for what you would like for your wedding ceremony and reception it might be good to make them known as some hotels will have more options than others. If you have something that you specifically envision for your special day you want to make sure that your chosen resort will be able to accommodate it. Sarah Blue Petal.

Congratulations on the engagement! Enjoy it! We too are getting married in April 2013 but we want to have it for the 23rd. I agree with Sarah and narrow it down to what you want. We wanted a place where Number One had to be good food coz we are such foodies. And then we knew where we DID NOT want to go. If you know an estimate of how many people you will have and what kind of a group, you can ask a travel agent for options that would best suit your needs.

Hope that helps :)

Good luck and have fun with the search!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
