  1. Hi Nikki, Yes they are a real venue:) It looks awesome hey. If you are looking for a private venue they do have lots of options for your celebration. I have a personal contact with the owner and sales manager and he is actually touring through the US and Canada in the next few months and I'm hoping he will be stopping into my office. I do have a lot of information on the venue but it is too much to post on the forum. If you would like to contact me I would be happy to share it with you. Or if you prefer, there is a CONTACT on the Martoca website where they will send you information if you request it. Hope this helps! Petal Sarah
  2. Hi Nikki, The actual websites do not show too many images of their wedding sites. If you google "Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Weddings" lots of images come up from alternate sites. You will find the same for Ocean Coral. Good luck! Petal Sarah.
  3. Hi Miss Nikki! It must be frustrating that you can't find what you are looking for! Many resorts will cater to what you envision for your special day. Many will have beach gazebos, if you would prefer to have it in a garden area they could accommodate it, but it may not have an actual gazebo or be located directly at the beach. There are also several resorts that now have rooftop or SKY weddings where you are not on the beach, but you overlook it from the venue. One property in the Mayan Riviera that comes to mind is the Ocean Coral by H10, they have a grassy area along the beach that could probably accommodate a small wedding as well as a terrace that can accommodate a larger group. The Grand Sirenis also has a unique wedding ceremony location that overlooks the ocean on a small rock cliff that is really pretty. If you work with a travel agent or a destination wedding designer, they could resource some wedding sites at resorts that might have a ceremony area that you are looking for. Hope this helps. 4. Hi Brooke, Wedding websites are such a great way to share information with your guests! Share your engagement story and photos then add on more information as you further your wedding plans! Add as much or as little as you like. Include write ups of how you met and how he proposed. Add photos and fun stories of you both and what activities you enjoy doing together ie) hiking, snow boarding. Your wedding website will be a great start getting your guests excited about your Destination Wedding. Include the details of your chosen destination and the property, as well as the fun tours and excursions they can choose from or read further on the details of one you would like to arrange for your group. Post photos of your resort and some of the key features that will excite your guests and make them look forward to this momentous trip as much as you do. Post an itinerary for the week including any welcome or rehearsal dinners as well as your wedding day schedule as to where guests need to be and what time, even what they should wear (beach casual, barefoot, or formal). Of course include their travel information and pricing. And the best part, if you have a destination wedding designer, add their contact information so they can assist all of your guests with their travel arrangements and questions! Sarah Blue Petal
  5. Hello! We have recently had two of our wedding couples in Cancun & the Mayan Riviera who used Photos In Cancun and were thrilled with how the photos captured their special day. Good luck! Sarah Blue Petal
  6. Hello, Congratulations on your engagement! Now is a good time to start thinking about an April 2013 wedding. Your travel agent should be able to get some pricing but not all of the suppliers will have all of their best pricing out until about 12 months prior. It is good to think of what type of resort will best fit your group. Something that has a lot of dining options as well as activities and entertainment, or something more boutique style for an intimate feel. Also if you have some specific ideas in mind for what you would like for your wedding ceremony and reception it might be good to make them known as some hotels will have more options than others. If you have something that you specifically envision for your special day you want to make sure that your chosen resort will be able to accommodate it. Sarah Blue Petal.
  7. Hi Brandie, Your wedding coordinator at the hotel should be able to advise you of the outside vendor fee. Most hotels do work with their own vendors, if you would prefer to use your own photographer you will most likely have to pay a vendor fee. They range from $45.00 to $600.00 depending on the resort or the vendors you are looking at having of your own. You can ask for a link to the hotel's photographers website to look at their work. If you would like to use someone different they will be able to let you know of the vendor fee that they charge. I have used Barcelo in the past and it was $400.00 for the photographer outside vendor fee however this can fluctuate so you would want to confirm with the hotel wedding coordinator directly to ensure you are aware of the correct fees. 8. Hi, great idea for your pre wedding Mexican Fiesta. “Matrimonial Margarita Madness!†It is a great way to introduce your guests prior to arriving in your wedding destination and it gets everyone excited. Here are a few suggestions; For games – you could do a couple of piñatas and fill them with your OOT bags if there are non-breakables in them. Or do a Mexican Bean Bag Toss. They seem silly, but once you get into them, they can be fun. Food – Taco bars are always fun and it makes it easy on the hostess in terms of preparation or serving a meal, fresh homemade salsa and guacamole add to the authenticity. Churros are a great dessert to serve as well. A Tequila bar can be fun, have a few different varieties and do tastings!
  9. Hi FutureMrsM! Congratulations on your engagement! With so many options it is difficult to pick a resort. Working with a Destination Wedding Specialist definately is helpful. They will take the time to listen to what you are looking for not only for your group but also for your wedding. It is good to have an idea of what you are looking for; a large resort that offers lots of dining options, activities and nightly entertainment, or a smaller boutique resort that would offer a more intimate experience. Do you want something with a bit of a Mexican Flair or something modern and contemporary? Destination Wedding Travel Agents will have lots of experience and have hopefully been to many resorts so they can help you narrow down your choices based on what works best for your group and what you prefer for your experience there. They will also be the contact for all of your guests and guide them during the booking process. Some agents will help with all of your wedding details as well to ensure that your special day is all that you envision it to be. They have lots of experience so can offer some suggestions and ideas to help you along in that process as well. This time should be fun and exciting for you. A Destination Wedding Specialist will help to alliviate a lot of the stress of planning your travel arrangements and wedding details so that you can enjoy this special time. Good luck!
