Wow you already have all the decorations and such picked out? Did your wedding coordinator contact you first? From what I understand we wait until they contact us b/c they probably won't respond if we reach out to them for these details, so I'm sitting tight for now. Maybe it's different from resort to resort?

Hey McLecker,

I emailed Neysa a few different times and got zero response from her.  I have decided just to use the hair and make-up girl from Dreams.  She's been very responsive and is actually much more affordable.  She quoted me the following:

Hairstyling long hair       $59 usd

Hairstyling short hair      $49 usd

Make up                       $49 usd

I am doing a run through hair and make-up trial a couple of days before my wedding to make sure that I like what she does.  She did send me sample pictures of previous brides and she looks like she does a great job.  Here is her contact information if you want to contact her:

Hope this helps out.

Oh coming along and you?

We finished registering last weekend.  I am finishing my DIY boarding passes this week and printing them this weekend.  I mailed my payment for my photographer today.  I am working on finalizing my flowers for the wedding.  I started my wedding/reception music.  And I am ordering the last of the bridesmaids gifts soon!   Slowly checking things off the list! :)

YAY for checking things off the list!

I've lost my DIY mojo. Every time I try to sit in my craft room and work on some of the stuff I have left, I just stare at it, and am not happy with anything I put together lol Hopefully it comes back in the next couple of weeks.

I've paid my photog as well, and our favors finally shipped out yesterday (I ordered them 2 months ago). Our final payment is due this week for our room, so the money tree has been printing bills off like there's no tomorrow! rolleyes.gif

And work is a beast, so that's been taking up most of my time and energy these days. I'm just ready to be in Mexico, enjoy the resort, get hitched, and relax. Anyone else?

I hear ya! I can't wait for the beach!!

I haven't really done any DIY stuff yet- so I better not loose my mojo, haha.

What did you order for favors that took 2 months to come in?

My final payment isn't due until Oct 5, so I've got awhile! :)

Photog is paid,

Just booked DJ,

Workin on booking Videographer

Waiting on last guests to respond and book (to determine how many favors are needed, but we already decided on what the favors will be)

Hair/makeup is being done by the hotel spa, but I'm doing my first hair trial  w/my local hair stylist this week to take some pics!

Bridesmaids and groomsmen are in the process of picking out their dresses/shirts

Groom's suit should be coming in any day now

Wedding dress is in process

Taking our 3rd dance lesson this week for our First Dance :)))))

As for flowers/decor/etc., I think that all gets decided shortly before the wedding, but I have an idea of what I want for flowers, so hopefully that'll be easy.

Our final payments are due at check-out, together with all the other fees.

Also planning to do a religious ceremony locally next month for the relatives that can't make it, so working on that a bit too, although luckily mother in law is handling that event!

The three-month mark is making everything really REAL. Photographer, DJ, hair/makeup were booked earlier on, but:

  • We're still working out the logistics of the pre-wedding events/activities, but formal invitations have been sent out!
  • Still slowly collecting things for OOT bags
  • Design of welcome booklet for OOT bags and ceremony program books are in progress
  • Hindu ceremony content and length are being negotiated (we're Indian and Korean) :-)
  • Ladies' outfits (saris) are being tailored but guys have not decided on outfits yet!
  • We'll be coordinating airport-hotel-airport travel for our guests since we'll be 90 minutes away from the airport, but need final RSVPs and flight itineraries
  • Haven't done a thing about decor

Two things I'm researching but can't decide on are:

  • Favors - due to transportation issues, we're thinking maybe Mexican edibles? Any ideas would be appreciated!
  • Guest book alternative - my friend had aging whiskey casks marked 1, 5, 10 years, etc., and guests wrote notes to go along with those years. The couple plans to open the casks and the notes on those anniversaries! I love this idea, but again, worried about how much we're transporting (there and/or back). Any unique ideas would also be very appreciated!

Hope everyone is doing well!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
