Hi VancityBride! we have finally received the email from our WC Pilar with all the prices and flowers... i gotta say, flowers are looking pretty crappy :(

i have 25 people coming to my wedding and i'm still unclear on the flow of the wedding. i want it to go something like this: 3 pm ceremony, 4-6 picture time, 6-7 cocktail hour, 7-9 dinner.... and then i want to have a reception with DJ and dancing. so i'm unclear how that could be set up in Grand Princess Riviera. WC hasn't answered any of my questions so far.

i'm also flying out of Vancouver - direct flight, thank god.

Yes I agree that this planning and communication can be frusterating. I was so upset last week when I received an email from my WC Emma who told me that all the things i have booked and planned had to be changed or were now not allowed when my previous WC Elizabeth told me it was fine. So i had to write a bit of a nasty email. Its getting annoying when you see each bride tell you that they did something different and then when you ask to do what they have done your told no. That is what gets me.

Our day is: 3pm ceremony (civil or symbolic) Im not sure which to choose because truthful i dont know what the differnce is..lol

330-430 - Cocktail hour on the beach. I was originally told that I had a private reserved area in this beautiful spot and recently im was told that i can do it in the same area but it will not be private. So now we are just going to have it on the beach right after the ceremony so our guests can enjoy some cocktails and pics.

430-530- Me and my new husband will go off and do our alone pics while everyone else can have a little free time to grab a bit to eat or just go freshen up.

6-10pm - Reception in the gala room with dinner and dancing. Im still not sure about the DJ, i havent heard the greatest reviews on him. I wanted to bring in an outside DJ but was told were not allowed.

Then after the dinner its off to change and then to the disco for more partyin.

I read a review that a bride did her dinner at the resturant that was included in her package and then had a dance party on the beach. Maybe ask about that. That sounds fun. Im doing it indoors in the gala room just cause i dont want to have it ourside if the weather is not nice or its muggy out. There are lots of options that I have been reading that other brides have done. Just read through reviews and posts and then ask your WC as many questions as you can. Ask for locations options and pictures. They are pretty good. I have asked a million questions..lol.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
