Is anyone having issues with the Resort responding to emails? I haven't heard anything since October. I have tried calling multiple times but no one is ever in the coordinator office.

Also is there anything special I need to bring that you know of for the Symbolic Ceremony? Paperwork? etc?

Thanks!

Just jumping in.... from my knowledge since it's a non-legal ceremony you don't have to bring anything with you.

Either before or after Mexico you will have to make your marriage legal back home and that will require some paperwork depending where you live.

Agreeing with PP that you don't need to bring anything down, however if there are specific things you want to include in your symbolic ceremony like special verses, a sand ceremony or personal vows, have those ready for your onsite meeting with the planners and bring a second copy for the officiant the day of the wedding in case your coordinator misplaces them.

As for not hearing from your planner at the resort- that is crazy! I would certainly keep pushing for contact- over 2 months going without response is stressful I'm sure!

Hi everyone,

Just wondering what method people are using to pay at the end. With the Cdn US exchange at 1.16, I hope it goes down. Also do credit cards charge an addition exchange fee?

My resort charges in pesos - thank god!!!!  So for us we won't have to exchange from USD.    I do have to pay my photog in USD and the exchange is gross, I agree :( I think we will lose about $250 in exchange.       So credit cards do, some don't.  Mine says it does BUT when I was in Mexico in 2013 I never got dinged, only the exchange rate. You'd have to look into the fine print of yours.  I am also paying with my credit card.

Hey we leave at 8am so we would miss you! We leave on the 24 at 300 or 330pm can't recall at this moment. You?

We are using the resort photographer :)

Thanks for the heads up on the legal part!!! We plan to go out for dinner after with our witnesses. It is important too so want it to be a nice evening. June, wow! Is your symbolic in Mexico known or do most know about the June legal?

My aunt asked me what we had chose. She had heard people talking about the options and the hassles and she was basically like do it in Calgary and make it easy on yourselves. So maybe no one would be upset after all :)

We leave the 25 to come home. Going 18-25th so we def wouldn't see each other ha ha

Our family know about the June legal that's it. June 17 is our anniversary so we did it then. We want it to feel as real as possible with the symbolic.

Sounds like it will be a nice evening. Enjoy :)

Hi Ladies,

I am wondering what everyone is doing for their hair and makeup? I've heard mixed reviews about the resort, I feel better about the hair then I do with them doing my makeup. I just can't see them creating a look I would be happy with...

Has anyone brought an outside company in?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
