I'm looking for a pale aqua or turquoise. I've been looking for awhile, and the only dresses I've found that I like are in bridal stores, so I'll just go with one of those. :)

Appreciate the direction ladies. The hunt continues.... :)

Oh yeah? We went there and found one we like, but it will be closer to $200 with taxes, which is still reasonable. I don't recall seeing any dresses under $100.

Le Chateau isn't cheap is it?! I'm not sure when that happened, but back in the day it was the store to go to for trendy, cheap clothes that you didn't care if they didn't last more than a season. I saw one dress in there that might work but it was over $200 as well, yikes!

I'm not sure what you mean by the short dress as David's has lots of short dresses :) but the chiffon one I'm considering is $139 (online/in the US) and $159 here, which is still really good compared to a lot of other designers, and it's one that could definitely have a second life as a cocktail dress or could be worn to another warm-weather wedding.

I noticed that Le Chateau seems to be bumping up their dress prices too - there traditional LC dress (satiny fabric, knee length, some pin tucking etc) still runs $130ish but it seems for anything different in style or fabric yoou are pushing $225!  I have purchased several dresses from there in the past and always love the fit so I'm disappointed that prices have jumped so much!

We are working with Ophellia from Bridal Affair Destinations. She is originally from Jamaica and specialises in Jamaican Destination Weddings. She has been great to work with. I believe her base is in GTA, but we have communicated with her via telephone and email since we live in Winnipeg. She offers her services as just a travel agent and as a full wedding planner, including travel arrangement. I definately recommend her. She was able to give us a lot of useful information (including a sample budget of what our wedding would cost) before we even committed to using her services. Her website is www.bridalaffairdestinations.com and her email is Ophellia@bridalaffaire.com. Another great thing is that she is on island often, so she can scope out things.

                  Hope this helps!!

In the past few years 2 of the weddings I have been in had the pick your own dress, just make it this colour idea for BM too.  I bought both of my from Le Chateau (very similar to the one you describe) and loved them - plus they always look great in photos, you can't tell it is not from a bridal shop.
