Exactly.. Okay that makes me feel better. I agree with tipping the wait staff, bartenders etc... and the WC also, as they are all just paid the hourly wage the resort pays them.. and don't get a share of the HUGE chunk of money we are all shelling out for our packages.. so it totally makes sense to tip them, however i was struggling with the photographer.. as i am paying them good money , that goes directly to them! :)

i feel better now hehehe

It is not permitted at our resort either.  Every resort I have ever been to says tipping is not permitted but every review or trip advisor i read people say they tip and service etc is better and appreciated.... I feel like that isn't right because you are paying all this money to be at the resort.  I understand their pay is not substantial but I just feel like it makes it tough for us and our guests.....

I guess we will have to see on the spot, if they will WOW me, than I will consider it. I would not want to jeopardize their jobs by slipping them money too.

Tricky topic, but I definitely would not tip photographer if he owns a company..

I read reviews about tipping and all, also some people say that they tipped and did not tip at the same place and services were just as good each time... I guess it depends. Also if I will tip our photographer or WC I won't see service improvement, because I will do it after the wedding. If I would do it before, I would feel uncomfortable...

Hi Ladies! We're still in the process of looking for brown flip flops for the guys to wear in our wedding party. Just wondering if anyone in this thread has seen any good places to buy any in Canada, or knows of any good websites that we should look at. We were hoping to get an end of summer deal, but I think we've now left it too late! Thanks for any suggestions you might have!

We bought ours at Kohls in the US, but did you try WalMart or Zellers? I just picked up a pair for our ring bearer on Friday for $5 at WalMart. My bridesmaids are actually also wearing George flip flops from WalMart....they are super cute silver ones with jewels and all my BMs loved them...especially the $12 price!!! haha.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
