Las Caletas on site photographer

Recommended Posts

I am looking at having my DW at Las Caletas. I am wondering if anyone used the photo package offered and how the photos came out? I have seen plenty of photographers blogs who have shot there. But I want to know how their photographer is. Ty!

Jen,

I know it is unusual for guys to write on here, but I just wanted to share my thoughts. I actually work for the company that runs Adventure weddings, so naturally I am going to be biassed, but beyond that, I recently got married at Las Caletas, Jan 22nd to be exact and my new wife is one of the wedding planners here. We used the in-house photography service and the photos came out incredible!

So I am not sure whether I am allowed to post on here being an employee, but as a very recent client, rest assured that you cannot go wrong using the in-house service, it is awesome!

I'd still like to see some recent samples too...the ones on their website are older. I'm trying to decide between going with the VA photographer or another one at a comparable price so if anyone is willing to share their photos from this year that would be super helpful!

Im getting married at Las Caletas and I chose to go with an outside photographer. I dont have anything bad to say about the in-house photographer but I asked to meet with them when before we went on a site visit but was told this wouldn't be possible. I think knowing your photographer and getting a feel for each other is vital. Eva from Photoshoots Vallarta came all the way out to our hotel (with her adorable baby boy!) and we totally hit it off. She answered all of our questions and I have full confidence that she'll be perfect for us. She was also insurmountably helpful for us to figure out a number of details like the wedding timeline, since she's shot at Las Caletas many many times.

I also think that the #1 most important thing you can do when looking for a wedding photographer is to ask to see an entire wedding album. When you see photographer's websites you only get to see the absolute best work. If I got back a few hundred images from my wedding and only one or two were really great, I would be devastated. Eva was able to give me access to a few albums specifically from Las Caletas and I was happy to see beautiful portraits, ceremony shots, reception shots, all kinds of lighting, ect.

My friend got her photos taken by an outside photographer: Estefania Flores Photography who was recommended by a photographer in Vancouver, my friend was pretty happy with her photos:

PS. She did got a $500 USD extra charge for using an outsider though, ridiculous.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
