Bridesmaid Gifts - HELP!

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

I just got back from a trip to China and one of the things to buy while there is genuine pearls. I bought a necklace and bracelet for each of my bridesmaids to wear at the wedding. Do you think that I could use the pearls to also double as the bridesmaid gift? Sort of kill two birds with one stone?

What's the normal amount that you'd spend on gifts for a bridal party anyway?

Thanks!

We just got married in January in Mexico. We bought Mexican silver jewelery for my bridesmaids. They got earrings, a necklace and a pendant. They also wore the jewelery for the wedding! So I think the beautiful pearls would be perfect! And very unique :)

I think a lot of brides give their bridesmaids jewelery, and it is usually expected that one wear the jewelery for the wedding (or at least that's been the case for me when I was a bridesmaid)

Good luck!

  • 5 weeks later...

I think we are going to be giving my bridesmaids their jewelry as their gift.  The jewelry will be something that they will be able to wear again.

Sorry, just noticed this post! LOL

We loved the Azul Sensatori! We had 63 guests and everyone found something they loved and enjoyed the resort (the guests aged 9 months to 71). The food and service are amazing. The only downside is swimming in the ocean is not really good directly in front of the resort. There is a coral reef, so it's extremely shallow, with lots of uneven surfaces. However if you walk north on the beach (turn left when you are facing the ocean) and walk about 150 yards to the point. There is a stunning area of white sand and a great spot to swim. Just warn your guests not to go past the point, there's a nude resort on the other side! rolleyes.gif

Hey Everyone!

As a destination wedding bride and a jewelry designer who specifically designs for destination weddings, I can say from experience that my bridesmaids cried when I gave them their jewels! I designed barefoot jewelry for the ceremony (which the wore the entire reception as well...and still wear on vacations), necklaces & earrings.  The best part was that they are able to wear them now and they're always asked where they bought them. I'm able to customize by color/style, etc. Hope that gives everyone some ideas!

I only have one bridesmaid and while I did get her some jewlery for the dress (just costume but it looks nice with the dress) - I was thinking of taking her and her husband out on an excursion with us, most likely swimming with the Dolphins as my FI would love to do that, as her gift.

Do you think that's enough?

Absolutely! There is no value to a bridesmaid gift, it truly is the thought behind it. So if you are giving her some jewelery (costume or not), she will always remember where she recieved it from. And taking them on an excursion will give them both wonderful memories. Enjoy your time with them, and let her know how much she means to you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
