We have a contract with creativent for cake, photography, decorations, officiant, transportation, etc. The only thing we do not have set is the location. I really need help trying to figure this out! We are on a tight budget and are looking into having it on a public beach so the actual ceremony would be free. Does anyone have any recommendations? I have heard governors beach or smiths cove possibly. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I'm not much help but I have heard that Smith's Cove is a good spot.

This is a long shot but does anyone know of a way I can get sparklers for our send off in Cayman? I've contacted one local place I found online but haven't heard back. My planner can't get them from the place she used to anymore and it's too late for me to have them shipped. :(

I was there last month and went to both Governors and Smith Cove. They are both beautiful, but very different. The beach at Smith Cove is small and there is rock between most of the beach and water. Governers is wide open. I googled some pictures that I thought best represented what they actually look like. I picked the wedding picture at govenors because there was a wedding in that same spot when we were there. I think it's the usual place they set up because there are trees for shade. If you want it closer to the water you may have to specify. Hope this helps! :)400[/img][/img][/img]

I am in a bit of a predicament which is causing me to stress out way too much. We are wanting to book a may 2014 beach wedding at the Westin. I've been planning and conversing back and forth with their planner for a while now. She even sent me a total estimate and we were going to start picking decor. I had been very persistent on securing my date and she always avoided the topic. I then said enough is enough and I wanted to know how much deposit to give to book. She then told me that out of a 90 day window from the date, they do not accept deposits and the ONLY way I can secure a date is to book 30 room nights at their hotel! At their "discounted" price, it works out to be almost $7000!!! And my guests and I aren't even staying at their hotel, we are booking villas next door at villas of the galleon. We may have a few guests book there but certainly No where near 30 room nights. I don't know what to do! We were very set on the Westin as I used to work at that property and really loved the beach. But what options do I have? Book the rooms and move our wedding party their instead of the villas, Which is almost Twice as expensive? Take my chance and book my date only 3 months in advance? Or just not book at the Westin at all and go with my second choice, tiki beach? The Westin wedding coordinator has not been helpful at all. I said I wasn't happy with that policy since we won't be staying there anyways and she said "okay that's fine, enjoy tiki beach I hear they are really nice" 😳 not trying to work around it or help me out! So frustrated.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
