Our may 10th wedding is closing in fast! I haven't booked any hair and make up yet. Who did everyone use for their hair and make up? Any recommendations? And also, did you do a trail day? We are there a week before the wedding so we do have time.

I was deciding between both tiki beach and Westin as well! I worked at the Westin for 3 years and always wanted my wedding there. I have a group of 30-40 coming down and we are staying at villas of the galleon. So when it came to securing a date at Westin...which i only choose because i thought the beach was better than at tiki...they surprised me with the non-negotionable policy of having to book 30 room nights at their hotel. Maybe one or two of our guests would stay there...since we were all next door at VOG. There was no way around it and I wasn't going to pay $6000 to secure a date that was not even a deposit! So we went with tiki beach the manager Ottmar is amazing and replys to my emails with detail and speed! We are using celebrations for decor, flowers and co ordination. The ceremony is actually on the beach at villas of the galleon...feet away from the Westin beach (at no venue charge!) and the reception at tiki beach. We are very excited and the planning has been nothing but smooth!

I am in a bit of a predicament which is causing me to stress out way too much. We are wanting to book a may 2014 beach wedding at the Westin. I've been planning and conversing back and forth with their planner for a while now. She even sent me a total estimate and we were going to start picking decor. I had been very persistent on securing my date and she always avoided the topic. I then said enough is enough and I wanted to know how much deposit to give to book. She then told me that out of a 90 day window from the date, they do not accept deposits and the ONLY way I can secure a date is to book 30 room nights at their hotel! At their "discounted" price, it works out to be almost $7000!!! And my guests and I aren't even staying at their hotel, we are booking villas next door at villas of the galleon. We may have a few guests book there but certainly No where near 30 room nights. I don't know what to do! We were very set on the Westin as I used to work at that property and really loved the beach. But what options do I have? Book the rooms and move our wedding party their instead of the villas, Which is almost Twice as expensive? Take my chance and book my date only 3 months in advance? Or just not book at the Westin at all and go with my second choice, tiki beach? The Westin wedding coordinator has not been helpful at all. I said I wasn't happy with that policy since we won't be staying there anyways and she said "okay that's fine, enjoy tiki beach I hear they are really nice" 😳 not trying to work around it or help me out! So frustrated.

I have to choose my venue within the next two weeks and I am totally torn!!! It's either Tiki beach or the Westin. Both venues look lovely, I used to work at Westin and often frequented Tiki beach. Both have quoted me almost the exact same price too which doesn't help me decide! Anyone have advice or personal experiences?

We have started planning our may 2014 cayman wedding. I Lived there for 3 years and met my fiancé there. We haven't come to an agreement on a venue yet but are set on having both the ceremony and reception directly on the sand of seven mile beach. Has anyone heard anything about tiki beach or had personal experiences? We are staying at villas of the galleon, they are giving a generous discount and 6th night free for us and all of our guests. I am having a look at how expensive wedding planners are!!! Anyone out there think theybare unneccessary and did everything on their own? I am a stayat home mom so I do have the time, but I tend to stress out quite easy. Any advice?

We want to do both right on the beach. Has anyone heard anything about tiki beach? Planners are so expensive! Did anyone plan their entire wedding by themselves? Not sure it's for me since it's only been a week and I'm already stressed! We are thinking of staying at villas of the galleon. They gave a good discount for us.
