Wedding Fireworks?

Recommended Posts

You can do it but the fireworks need to be imported three months in advance minimum - that is what I was told by our hotel. I REALLY want fireworks! The costs I was given range from $5000 for five minutes to $8,500 for three minutes, which is too high for our budget. If ANYBODY has gotten a lower quote I'd love to know about it. (Although I am now within the three month rage - OMG!)

Thanks for the info Maritza and DowntownLAGirl.

Guess what?!  I live in Downtown LA at one of the SB Buildings on Spring!  That's cool that someone so close to me is getting married in Jamaica too!

I really want fireworks too, but those prices are way outside of my budget.  I will talk to my planner and see if she can find out more info.  What resort have you all decided on?

Silly thought but...can you just bring them in yourself? This was my thought as for a wedding favour for the boys, we wanted a mini firework wrapped with a bow or something that the boys could all have fun letting off at midnight??

I'm from England and we have bonfire parties every year for Bonfire Night so it's not like we have never handled fireworks before. We are getting married in a private villa so don't see that this should be a problem and all fireworks (plus extra bigger more impressive ones) would still come under $400.

Explosives on a plane anyone? :)

DizzyDiamond, that is so funny....one of my bridesmaids (we don't really have them, but she will be helping me dress etc) lives in one of those buildings! Small world. I am further east in the Arts District. We are getting married at Round Hill in Montego Bay on April 30. Any good wedding finds in DTLA yet? I need sarongs ;-)

Catererbride, I personally wouldn't risk that on a commercial airplane...but if you have any guests flying in private...well....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
