Hi Justiner57 and all the September brides!

I'm having  my wedding on September 10th in Riviera Maya at the Grand Sunset Princess.

Are you bringing your own centerpieces?

As for favors we're most likely giving our guests mini-albums. And after the wedding we'll be sending them a photo-thank you card that they can put in the album as well.

What r u ladies giving as favors?

I totally know what you both mean. I find it hard to concentrate but feel like it will all come together fine. I don't want to do most of the decorating until I know the final head count, which isn't due until the end of June. So I feel like July & August will be my crunch months to get all the decorating and planning done. I think the main points I have already done, food selection, flower selection, cake selection & working on a music list as we speak.

Can you ladies think of anything else I'm missing? What are you ladies doing for favors? I've heard mixed things about the OOT bags... some ladies say their guests LOVED them and others said they didn't really use them. We have a few families staying at different resorts and I don't want them to feel left out if they don't get the OOT bag. Thoughts?!

Hi Justiner57

You should definitely do the TTD!! It will be a once in a lifetime experience and pictures. I also wanted to  do the TTD but since I'm renting my wedding dress it might be an inssue when I return it to the store.lol!

I'm still debating if I should get a another regular dress to do the TTD.. What do you think?

Question for you ladies though - I am doing a TTD shoot the day after the wedding and seriously thinking of wearing this dress in the ocean. I know it will most likely ruin the dress but I don't plan on reselling or preserving the dress or anything like that. It would most likely just sit in my closet. I think the pictures would come out AMAZING and I want my dress to be the same in all the photos.

What are your thoughts?! Horrible idea or go for it, I don't plan on wearing the dress again!

Welcome Kabee55. just realise you're also in Montreal. we should meet up sometime to exchange ideas, only thing I'm getting married in Punta Cana 6 days after you.

Regarding centrepieces. I am totally trying to bring my own because the resort is charging an arm and a leg for flower arrangements and really the ones they are offering I don't like them. My colors are Navy and Fuchsia and my theme is  a nautical casual preppy chic(if that style exist)..lol. As for favors I am giving my guest miniature Rum punch mixtures from my island of Grenada.

This is my inspiration for the centerpieces except in Pink... What do you guys think?

I love the dress!  And I love the idea of doing the sweetheart neckline.  I did that to my dress for my 1st wedding....years ago.  You will love it!

Definitely trash your dress!  If you aren't going to try and sell it, what do you have to lose??  The pictures will be worth it!!

Hi Subbi,

Thanks for your warm welcome!! Your centerpieces are gorgeous!! The stripes really reflect a nautical style. Good choice. Are you shipping your centerpieces beforehand?

I've decided not to bring centerpieces. Don't know why but I'm a very last minute and go with the flow bride!! I'm not even sure about my wedding dress. Might have to try some other dresses.

Do you have your wedding dress already? Cause there's a wedding dress sale this wk-end in in Montreal.

I am looking to carry the centerpieces with me because I've heard of horror stories on this forum about shipping. Hopefully I can ask some of my guest to help with take a few items.

So I already bought my dress but still having second thoughts but I don't have extra funds to buy another, but where exactly is this wedding sale. the last time i went to one a few months back it was anything but a sale.

I really know how you feel when you say you're last minute because am exactly the same. but trying to conquer that but these days am so not motivated, maybe it has to do with a fight I had with my MOH wanting to wear a dress with a small train...but we're trying to get pass that, it's a long story which I vented about in another brides forum. Oh well i'm beginning to realise these things are pretty popular during weddings. Anywayz last night I started back on my Invitations hopefully I can finish them this weekend in between all the outings planned for the long weekend.

So have you done your invitations yet?

Hi Ladies,

I'm glad you all agree with me on the TTD. I will make my final decision probably right before the wedding, but I'm totally leaning towards a Yes!

Subbi, I love your center piece idea & think the nautical theme is super cute. Especially if you are doing the white chairs in the picture too.

I personally am not bringing my own centerpieces because my FI hates fake flowers, so there goes that idea. I also prefer the thought of real flowers, even though we are on a budget. A suggestion to you all is.... I had a friend get married in Cabo 2 summer's ago. Her mom went into a local market the morning of the wedding and was able to big in bulk flowers for VERY inexpensive. She then put together bouquets and center pieces for the wedding and they turned out really cute.

If any of you are looking to save so money & have crafty friends/mom this might not be a bad idea :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
