OK Ladies,

I am here...yeah... There are so many forums here it gets a little overwhelming.  So let's see an update.  I have designed my invitations and they should be ready by May 31 and will go out immediately.  I sent everyone save the dates and have a website, but as of right now I only have 9 rooms booked.  This is my second wedding, so I am trying to be as stress free as possible, but after reading so many post and great ideas it is hard not to want to do a little bit of everything.

My FI and I went to bed, bath and beyond and registered so that is taking care of.  I wasn't going to at first, but we have so many people that will not be able to come and wanted to send a gift so that is what we did.

Colors-I am using most of the included decorations with my package, but if I had to say colors, it would be light blue and gold.

I know some of my family is going to be upset when they try and book their rooms and they are all gone and the hotel is overbooked.  I have heard that happens quite often.  I keep trying to tell them to reserve, but hey you can lead the horse to water...:)

I can completely understand about it being hard to focus.  Did I mention I am also moving to a new city in June...add that to the pile.  But I can't wait for September.

Let's get this post moving....:)

Hi Ladies, so here is a picture of my dress!! I still have to get it sized and make a few changes but overall I absolutely LOVE it! I am probably going to make it a sweetheart top instead of straight across like it is in the picture.

Question for you ladies though - I am doing a TTD shoot the day after the wedding and seriously thinking of wearing this dress in the ocean. I know it will most likely ruin the dress but I don't plan on reselling or preserving the dress or anything like that. It would most likely just sit in my closet. I think the pictures would come out AMAZING and I want my dress to be the same in all the photos.

What are your thoughts?! Horrible idea or go for it, I don't plan on wearing the dress again!

Hello hdinsmor!

First off, congrats on your wedding planning and on the fact you're having family come in from Australia - that's a huge accomplishment and will be incredible to have everyone there! In my personal opinion, it sounds like your best bet would still be something that would be flowy for the simple fact that your sister will be very far along and your friend could potentially be pregnant by then. I like justiner57's idea about putting them in different colors since one is your sister as well. Your wedding colors sound beautiful together, and if there is a possibility of finding a teal dress for your sister and a red dress for your other bridesmaid, that could be an option?

Since I planned my own destination wedding I thought a nice common denominator (with variations) would be the girl's jewelry. I did have my girls all in the same dress, but with completely different hairstyles/personalities and of course the jewels, it gave everyone a different look. What do you think about tying their look together with the jewelry? Since you'll be at the beach, natural shell tones with sparkling crystals could "marry" your bridesmaid's look without them necessarily having identical dresses.  If you need any additional inspiration, photos from my wedding can be found here: http://www.redibychelsea.com/?page_id=1046. I hope that helps!

Cheers!

Chelsea

For some reason, I am terrible at navigation this forum, and just found this post.  I am getting married Sept 10, 2011 at the Grand Palladium Resort in Luceau (Montego Bay), Jamaica!  We are SOOOO excited!  Girls, I am so far behind, it is scary!!  Ordering invitations on Monday, and need to get them out ASAP.  We expect to have 25 to 30 guests.  My fiance's family is from Australia, so we will have about 10 Aussie's in attendance...shoud be fun!!  I have my dress....it's the Pronovia's Galia.  My daughter (5 years old) is wearing an empire tutu dress made by Juju's Tutus out of Phoenix (look it up on Etsy if you are interested...she designs such cute things for little girls).  The colors for the wedding are red and teal/ turquoise color.  Kind of hard to describe, but it looks really pretty together.

So, here is my dilema, my sister is pregnant and will be 8 months along at my wedding.  She is the maid of honor.  My other bridesmaid (I only have 2), was also pregnant, but unfortunately had a miscarriage.  She is starting to try again now.  When they were both pregnant, I was going to have them both wear a long maternity cotton stretchy flowy day dress for the wedding...not actual "bridesmaid dresses".  But, now I don't know what to do and I feel like I need to decide something quickly.  The wedding is less than 4 months away!  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Glad to find you ladies!  Look foward to chatting futher!  Good luck to everyone!

Omg your dress is so amazing and you look totally adorable in it. as for the TTD I say go for it. i just love to see it. Unfortunately I don't have funds in the budget for it but would really like to do it. Maybe it will work out. Although I think donating my dress is something I'd like to do after the wedding so am not sure how that would work out. but am all for Trashing the dress and the actual dress at it too.

Yeah I was going to say that it wasn't me....hehe.

Yes I have my dress...love it...my FI uses my computer a lot so I don't want to upload the picture but I will figure out a way to get it on here.

My 8year old son, just picked out the shell ring bearer pillow he wants to carry.

I found this great website and just ordered my fans, bubbles, and bell/place card holders.  KoyalWholesale.com

As I said earlier I am trying not to get a lot of stuff, but there are so many cute things out there.  For my wedding favors I am doing a lotto scratch off card, my FI loves them.

What are you guys doing for wedding favors?

Also I am having a hard time trying to think of the alternative for my male guest for the OOT bag.  The females will get the beach tote I found at the dollartree.  Any ideas?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
