Where did everyone go...it's so quiet here. I'll take this silence as a sign that everyone is hard at work planning and getting projects done, then this would definitely mean i am slacking back as usual. Come on guys lets see your stuff.

LADIES I NEED TO VENT!!! UGGGGGHHH (sorry so long)

this has been the week from hell.  I don't even know where to begin.  First my bank makes an error on my account causing all kinds of mayhem, tying up my money for days, Then, my laptop with my guest list, video invitation, engagement pics, my 4 hour playlist, and pretty much my whole life DIED!!   When it happened I immediately ordered another laptop from walmart.com (same day pick up)  to then get a call saying the item is discontinued and I would be refunded in 3-5 days.  Now my bank had just gotten straightened out a day before this happened.  How can you sell something online that is discontinued.  THEN, since the item was discontinued, the store offered a different model ( $300 more in price yay! ) BUT the catch was I had to purchase within 24 hours.  I I was able to get my refund pushed thru in 6 hours and picked up new computer.  but wait there's more.  I went to my fitting for my dress and ended up ordering a new dress because I lost weight. that wont be here till weeks before my wedding...and finally I booked for my make up only to find out that she double booked for the day, she is saying she will accommodate me but from what I understand she has several weddings that day with several different locations and it is not humanly possible for her to do all of them because of time conflict.  UGHHHHHHHHH  Why? that's all i wanna know is why? I am not having the best of luck dealing with jamaican vendors... i feel like they are trying to get the most of of you a bunch of hustlers... I hope everyone else is doing better, and thanks for listening.

Hey Soon2BNJersey,

I first of all take a breather...not sure if you drink any but have a mojito or 2 (well i will...LOL).

Ok now... wow, that's a lot to take on in one week, but It seems that everything is starting to be sorted out. I really hope you haven't lost any information from your old computer, would really hate for you to restart all your projects. So my fingers and toes are crossed hoping that everything is ok.

New dress uhh, ...don't sweat it, hope loving your new size at least if yes 2 thumbs up to you. I am a firm believer that everything happens for reason and when it's suppose to happen so it's a good thing you still have time to order a dress rather than at the last minute scrambling wondering what to do..."glass half full, rather than half empty".

Please, don't get me started about life in the Caribbean. Firstly let me say I am a Proud Grenadian (island not far from Jamaica) but believe me everything runs on "go slow" down there. The great thing is you still have to some time to smooth over issues and maybe find other vendors but you should know that things are at a much slower pace in the islands and Yes at times they see you as a dollar sign rather than a person (have instances of that happen to me many times growing up there so i know how you feel).

With all this said I am trying to say, stay positive and try to deal with the situations as they come and thru it all smile because it is all part of the planning, good and bad moments. somethings we need to step away in order to come back energized and ready to go.

So Cheer up chica. Now I'll have a mojito for you later.

Aww Subbi!!

We I don't even know you but I could just give you a big hug for taking the time out to help bring me back to earth! you are a sweetie!  You understand the frustrations and where I am coming from. No one likes to feel like a number or dollar sign, but when there is a high volume unfortunately this is how it is, and getting married abroad is not recommended for a perfectionist! LOL  I have planned parties here at home for 10 + years and I sometimes forget that everything runs differently in different places.  I got u girl, I will take a break, and have me a drink, or two, well maybe three LOL CHEERS!!

I will look at the good stuff, I lost 23 pounds and cut a few inches from my waistline  (maybe I should measure that too. oops) I got a new computer with a $300 discount, a wedding count that has jumped from 40 to 50 and I have a new dress that I am more in love with than the first one.  God makes things happen the way they are supposed to, and thanks reminding me of that while I was seeing RED!

I don't know what I would do without this site, you gals rock! your creative, sassy and there is a thread for EVERYTHING!  Today I learned that no matter what happens I am gonna get married around more family and friends than I anticipated..  As much as I would like to break the bank for a wedding pulling out all of the stops, I will work within my means for a simple, fun, and beautiful day.

Thanks so much :)

said while heading over to the blender and liquor cabinet lol

So I finally finished my invitations and went to mail them out today, boy ooh boy I almost fainted when I heard the price to mail outside of country $4.10 CAD and $1.25 to mail inside Canada. That is high class robbery, so you know what call me cheap but everyone else Living in Montreal and surrounding areas will definitely be receiving their invites by hand. mailed out 8 invitations outside the US and Canada for an amount of $32.80, guessing my figure will be seeing a vast improving in the upcoming days because all my lunch monies tied up in postal services...LOL. Hopefully at this price my mail will be delivered first class, strike or no strike.

Sorry guys that one just hit me like a ton of bricks...guess I should have research my prices before I decided to use 6.5x6.5 envelope and bulky ribbons in my invitations. Lesson definitely learnt.

Hope everyone else is having  a much better day than I am. ooh well such is life.

Ab Subbi, that is a mistake many brides make! Myself included, thought I could get away with a regular stamp but had to add .20 cent stamps to everything. Oh well, wasn't a big deal... but a couple dollars to mail something is a lot of money!!

We have about 20 booked now, hoping for another 15-20 people but not quite sure. Our colors are blush pink & gold. We just sent out invitations about a week ago, I will have to upload a picture once I get back from traveling. Do you have your dress already?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
