Hello! Your pictures (& u) are beautiful!!! I'm getting married at the royal on May 19 2012 and had a few questions for you!

First did u have to  bring all the extra's ur self (flower pedals on the runner for ceremony, candles for table # etc... or did u just give the hotel idea's and they provided these items.  Also if u had to bring them how was it on ur luggage to bring so much extra stuff on the plane?

Hi Ladies,

I'm getting married at The Royal Playa del Carmen on May 11, 2012 - we're sooooo excited!  I have a lot of the same questions as goddesslv4.  I was also wondering if anyone knew when the best time to book is.  Right now my TA is quoting us $306/night for the Jr. Suite (lowest category).  The Royal gave me a rate of $315/night for that same level.  Should we book now (early) or wait a few months and see if the price goes down.

we're also crossing our fingers that airfare goes down as well.

Thanks,

Labebita911!!!  How is your planning going??!! We are getting close! less than 5 months away!!!  AHHHHHH!!!  haha, Im hanging in there, are unofficial count is 63!!! I wasnt expecting so many, I decided on the Gran Caribe. The Gazebo is more private than The Royals, I had a problem with the sea turtle nesting season too. It was a struggle in the beginning but now is much easier!!

I wanted the Catholic Church for a symbolic ceremony but they said no. Then I wanted the reception on the beach, and because of the sea turtles "nesting" we would have to end the reception by 9pm. I didnt want it to end that soon!!  (even tho im sure we will be partying our asses off the rest of the night anyway!!) so that was a no. I was ready to lose it, I had just started and everything was a NO. I wish they would explain in a little better detail on their website how it all works. But OH WELL!!

Hope your planning is going great!! We will be staying for 2 weeks so I should DEF see you!!

Let me know how you're making out!!!

Hey Katie!!..

My planning are in full gear right now.. I have 18 guest booked which is more than i actually thought.. and im still waiting for about 10 more.. so we will see. Im sending out the offical invitation next week as a reminder to those who have not booked... I will be having a beach reception although it ends at 9 which sucks but my ceremony starts at 3:30 so i figured by 9pm we should be ready to end and keep it moving and maybe hit a club or party in the lobby until midnight... so we paid for an extra hour so reception is from 5-9 which either way in Boston reception runs for 4 hours so it wasnt that big of a deal . NOw in the gazebo what time does it end???? Hows everything?? and wow 63 thats alot of people!! nice... has anyone booked yet??  i just sarted my gym regimen lost 3 lbs already so im excited.. hope i dont fall off the wagon.. :o) .. im getting ready to start piecing everthing together and trying to figure out every detail but its hard when you dont have a for sure head count.. i dont want to over order.. Im starting to look for bridemaid dresses now and flower option.. prob going with Marvin instead of the resort.. so much to do ahhh!!!!!!!! lol lol how everythng with you?? too bad im going to miss your weddin :o(

Hi,

I am a newbie just started planning and trying to decide on a resort wedding is March 23, 2013. I am looking at royal cancun, royal playa del carmen, and le blanc spa. Anybody been to any of the other resorts. Was concered about royal cancun being small from the pictures and number of rooms. I want to make sure the resort is big enough and lots of things going on while we are there. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Amanda

COngrats first of all!!>. I am getting married at the Royal in Cancun and have been there twice. I stayed both times in the master suite which is AWESOME!! I love it love it love it.. The royal is a small resort but I kind of like it like that. because although its small they do have activities every night they have a show, during the dy thy have activities by the pool and they have things to do nearby you can literally walk to. We walked to the mall, accross the street there is also a small plaza with restaurant and shops, we walked to where the clubs are. I think the royal is in a perfect location on the hotel zone to be honest. Our friends went and stayed at a resort where they had to cab it to all the places we walked to, you can always also just catch the bus that runs up and the down the hotel zone... like i said earlir i loved that it was asmall resort we went to Punta Cana last year and stayed at a really big resort and we just didnt like the feel we felt excluded from some of it because it was soo huge poeple were all over the place, its nice to see people in close proximities than to walk a mile to the nearest lobby..etc.... that s just my opinion and my experience. At the royal they treated us like royalty and i give it a thumbs up all the way. any questions feel free to pm me.. I havent hd the pleasure of staying at the one in playa but im ef staying there when i go for my wedding since i can trade nights.. Ohh an also if you stay at the royal you have complete access to all the real resorts. so you pay for one resort and get the amenities of 4!!!!!... which is great to have that option.. :o)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
