special considerations for mailing STD magnets?

Recommended Posts

Are there any special considerations for sending magnets in the mail?  DF is worried that they will get stuck to postal equipment or mailboxes. We've ordered our STD magnets from vistaprint, but they don't come with envelopes.

Same here - we did a small magnet and then ordered postcards and their envelopes all from Vistaprint.  We put additional wording on the post card that would not fit on the magnet.  I used a glue dot to attach the magnet to the postcard and mailed them off with 1 stamp each.  No problems with getting them delivered across the US.

I hate the vistaprint website!  I can't find anything on there, and definitely did not see matching envelopes. grrrr.  Are the envelopes just plain, or is there anything special about them?  ie. if you put a magnet into the envelope, will it stick to the fridge?  I have some paper at home that I can use as backing, and just cut slits in the corners or use a glue dot.

Once you design the postcards you can choose options for envelopes, blank, designed, etc. The ones I ordered were plain, so yes, you can just use plain paper and an envelope. Depending on how thick the paper is, it may or may not adhere as a package. We cut slits in ours, but some people mentioned that the magnet was loose.

I don't know how I missed the envelopes. There was a bunch of stuff during checkout, tote bags and mugs and all sort of stuff, but I don't remember envelopes.  But if they're not "special" envelopes then I guess it doesn't matter, I'll just pick some up at Staples. thanks!

Just make sure there is a sticker backing otherwise they may stick to unwanted items.  Also, make sure they are tasteful because your relatives will have these on their refrigerators for years to come and you don't want something embarassing hanging on the refrigerator.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
