Ok, Abigail (WC at Westin PV) is driving me a little nuts. She is so confusing. First off it takes her a couple weeks to get back to my emails. Fine, I can deal with that. But then her replies make NO SENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! girl_werewolf.gif She keeps getting dates all kinds of messed up. For example, in the beginning I asked if May of '09 was available. For some reason she thought I was talking about Nov of '08?! Every email since then has been utterly confusing, most of all the one I received today - I had written a couple weeks ago (when we were originally planning on going in August) asking if we could meet with her the day we arrived (Monday Aug. 20th) and also asking if it would be possible to host a Welcome Dinner in the Royal Beach Club room. This was her response:

Subject: WED MAY 2008 (wtf? where does this come in?)

Body: Dear Ms. Miller, sure we can attend you either the 21stth

Please let me know what time is better for you 10 am or 11.00.

Best Regards.

I'm thinking it is partially due to a language barrier thing but I was just wondering if anyone else has had issues in communications with her...

Ahh, that's no good, I'm sorry!! I emailed back and forth with her a while and she really seemed quite competent. I was deciding between the Westin and the Sheraton and picked the Sheraton only because they weren't as rigid (the westin charges an upcharge) with bringing in outside vendors or items (such as centerpieces, flowers, etc.).

Bad day maybe? : )

Hope it gets better!!

I've been talking to her for about a month now. I don't know why but every email gets more confusing. I went ahead and asked my TA to deal with it. I'm glad we're not having our wedding there tho, or I'd probably be hiring an outside WC. I'm glad you had a good response from her! Maybe she was just getting me confused with someone else...

It is amazing (like night and day almost) the difference between her and the WC at the Mayan. The guy at the Mayan responds usually within the hour and is clear and organized. He always seems to know who I am. *shrug*

Jaime:

are looking for getting married in the Pergolas Area or the Patio? I am asking since Hector and Priscilla from Prisar are the WC for the Westin in the Patio Area.. and they are really good, and you can bring your own caterer, photog, flowers, etc...

Abigail Dueñas is a very nice lady, probably as you mentioned is the language barrier, if I can help you with some translation , just let me know.

Thanks Edna. Actually right now we just want to know if it is possible to rent out their Royal Beach Club room for our WD. Where is the patio? I wonder if the Pergolas might be an interesting place for a WD...

Our 1st choice for the ceremony is at the Mayan

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
